depth difference 9 inch hf round vs hf olip. coil

I think the depth is about the same .. 9.5 coil is narrower for sepearation and one more freq at 74
Some say that there is a small difference ,that the round hf coil is a little deeper. at least that's what they say on utube. I was thinking about getting a 9 inch x35 coil but moneys tight for me. With my hunting style I don't think ill miss much with the 9/5 hf coil verses the x35 coil. thanks for the input.

The advantage the 9" X35 would be the low freq for silver hunting disadvantage low freq uses up the battery..
The X35 coils has expert mode .. Honest I never use that

Is it called Boost mode?
Mark

is the 9" hf deeper than the x35 Yes and no, on brass & gold yes on silver no , but the low frequincy can have alot more problems with emI

No, it is a TX power boost in the 4khz range only. There is no adjustment for it on the ORX.

While the two 9 inch round coils might be little deeper in most situations, it is not necessarily that way in highly mineralized ground. You are not missing much with the 9x5 plus you can get into tighter situations. Most of the good stuff people miss is because the signal is compromised by something nearby. The 9x5 is good at telling you this is happening.

That said, if I only had the 9x5, I would get one of the X35 coils. There are advantages in lowering the frequencies. Put a quarter and a pull tab on the ground far enough apart to not affect the other. You will be able to detect the tab much higher than the quarter on the 9x5 and the other HF coil and the difference will get greater the higher the frequency. The detection depth of the quarter will lessen too. Lowering the frequency has the opposite effect. The pull tab signal starts dropping and the quarter signal gets stronger. If you follow the numbers and don't normalize them, 4khz expands the VID numbers so that good high conductors are no longer all in the 90's. The X35 to me is more versatile. It can be 4khz like what was added to the Equinox, around 8khz, like my Omegas, 12 or so like the Tesoros, 18 or so like my Gold bug and 25khz which is almost as high as the second highest frequency on the HF coils.
