Things are getting interesting

First Mine Lab comes out with a new single frequency detector the (Xterra Pro) now Nokta is coming out with appears to be three new Simplex detectors you do not suppose one of those three new Simplex's might be a selectable single frequency detector LOL I am personally loving the competition between the Manufactures, Competition between the manufactures can only breed lower prices from all of them in the not to distant future and I for one am all for the lower price thing and more for your buck LOL

Yep, things are getting spicey in the detector market. The one thing holding me back from Nocta is the never ending updates.

updates are finised now on the Legend with the new 1.11 update delivered to us 1.11 is the final update on the Legend, mot that I could tell you how the 1.11 works or the LG24 because we have recieved snow the past three weeks where I am located in Arizona, I am hoping the 1.11 is as good as what I seen in the Beta Test versions

with these new simplex models coming out you would have thought Nokta would have made one of them a selectable single frequency detector but they did not

I have to agree Nokta looks to be applying the pressure. If those are 3 different simplex detectors, It wouldn't surprise me if 1 is Multi frequency also. Minelab had the Vanquish, Garrett had Apex, Nokta could have the Multi plex. They have the engineers for sure.
If they would have made at least the Ultra a Selectable single frequency by adding two more frequencies with the 15 KHz that it will come with I would have said yes they are trying to apply pressure, but thats not the case and I feel it was a mistake to change the 12 KHz to 15 KHz

updates are a simple 5 minute process once you figure out how to do it, would rather have them doing updates to always improve something then to be like Minelab and just ignore customers and do nothing. And I do like Minelab for the most part.

I remember when what's her name said that update 1.08 was the last one for the Legend & now they're up to 1.11.

Changing the frequency to 15khz is a plus to me anyway. Around here it’s definitely a hot frequency that hits good on everything from coins to small jewelry at great depths.
Just like the latest tesoro models did running at about 15khz. Depends on your soil but the tesoro’s that ran those frequencies were hot detectors that alot of people used and liked.
Had they had that originally i might have bought the simplex instead.
Maybe its to get ahead of the new Xterra vlf coming out

Well if they were trying to get ahead of the Xterra Pro they would have made at least one of the three new Simplex models a Selectable single frequency detector like the Xterra Pro is

I hope they listened to people and changed the tones on the Simplex. Alot of people can't stand the tones so much they won't use it just for that reason. I agree 100% about the selectable frequency. They should have done that on the ultra model. From the videos so far of the new Xterra pro it looks like a home run especially for the price but let's see what Nokta has up their sleeve. We haven't heard anything from either manufacturer since the big announcement a couple weeks ago maybe Nokta will upgrade to a selectable frequency, they already have the technology there from their previous models and if we have learned anything from Nokta it's.that they are lightning quick to make changes if necessary. Very passionate company.

Nice thing about the legend the factory tones aren’t my preferred but you are able to adjust them to how you like

My X-Terra Pro will be here tomorrow, that being said I really like the performance of my Simplex, especially with the SP24/2.77 software combo. Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but Minelab said they wouldn't make another single freq machine. I would consider the pro-switch with 3 different frequencies multi freq. to a degree. Albeit not simultaneous, still more than 1 frequency. Can't wait to get mine in the dirt!

If you do not mind where were you able to purchase a Xterra Pro from seems no dealers have them in stock because Mine lab is delivering them to Cabela's by the boat loads and I refuse to purchase from a big box store because mine lab is greedy

How is it Cabelas fault. Shouldn’t you be more upset with ML than Cabelas
Cabela would be stupid to say “ no we don’t want your products”
And i would think ML approached Cabelas not the other way around

Im just confused man
If you say ML is the greedy one shouldn’t you be upset with them

Yes, I did get it from Bass Pro Shop. I figure if I didn't buy it, someone else would. Life is short and I would rather not wait.

and there you go again changing things around in someones post if you would have read my reply you would see I said mine lab is greedy, and yes i agree it is not Cabela's fault but I still refuse to purchase from a fishing tackle store and a boat dealer store among other things, again I ask you what does a fishing tackle store know about metal detectors,

I never said it was Cabela's or bass pro shops fault and yes minelab is greedy have talked to several small dealers and none of the small dealers have the Xterra Pro why because Mine Lab chose to send 1000s of units to big box stores, cutting the small dealers out, mine lab also did the same thing with the manticore, how would you feel as a small dealer that has been loyal to Mine Lab for years just to be pushed aside, some of those small dealers I consider to be friends,

I agree the dealers should be pissed i just didn’t get why you would be as the poster said if he didn’t buy it some other person would and life is short
