One piece at a time.

My Nox and I have been playing on a golf course that is closed for renovation. 3rd one in the area in the last 4 years. Anyway, a week or so ago I recovered a quarter size half moon disc which looked to be silver. No markings, but it id'ed 31-32 on the Nox and at home it tested silver. Two days later about 100 yards away I found another piece and a few yards away, a 3rd piece. Yesterday, in the same general area I recovered 3 more half moon pieces from the same hole and fortunately, 1 of the pieces must have been part of the clasp as it was marked.

It read, Georg Jensen, 925s Denmark, 169. Googling this info, photo's of jewelry pieces popped right up and one picture was of a women's hand with a bracelet (169) with pieces like I had been finding. If you should google this info, you will note the bracelet retails for $2450.

The 6 pieces I have recovered weigh 34.4 grams, an ounce +. Another picture of the bracelet shows it has 22 such disc's. I probably need to hunt that area with a tighter grid.

I don't do the picture thing anymore, but thought some of you might find this of interest just the same. Oh, and don't pass up a chance to hunt a golf course if one in your area closes for renovation. They are about as good as it gets turf wise for finding jewelry. HH jim tn

That is an interesting story.
Pictures would have been nice to see.
A friend and I had the opportunity to detect an old golf course some years ago that was about to close and we had very good luck there although we were told that it had been detected for years by others.
Among our finds were silver coins, IH’s, 1 large cent (1852), and even the wreath part of a tongue and wreath buckle.
My buddy found a nice class ring there also.
The one we detected dated back to about 1938, but was a farm before that.

I referenced the 1st two sometime last year on the metal detecting forum, I believe it was. Both had been Union camps. I found my first half dimes and Capped Bust coins from one and large cents and half reales from the other. Indians, V's and Seated coins came from both. This 3rd course is not nearly as old as the first two. Is giving up a few Merc's and Rosies and Washington quarters, but relatively speaking, it is yielding more jewelry then the first two. This one has yielded me a 1883s Morgan dollar. Probably, though, used as a ball marker? The course was built in 1955. But, it was something before then. HH jim tn

I stay away from golf courses. Someone else went through and left 18 plugs wide open, no attempt at all to fill it in. Nope, not getting blamed for that!!!!!🤔😂

Ron, these are or were all under renovation. Heavy equipment moving dirt remaking fairways and greens, new irrigation systems being dug and pipe laid, and so on. No problem with the site construction manager as long as I hunt away from where the workers and equipment are working. HH jim tn

I get that….. just a little golf humor at “18 holes” being left open.

Feel like I should toast myself for slipping that one through!!!’
