Version 1.11 is up Now

Well mine is now updated but going to have to wait until this unblessed snow and cold goes away. After all said and done THEN I noticed the Threshold update, Mama just looked at with that woman stare. Gonna cost me coffee to get her to do it again. 🤷‍♂️

guess I am not the only one LOL, I installed the 1.11 and a freak snow storm hit us and now we have 10 inches of snow setting on the ground where I live, kids were playing across the street at the park, yesterday with snow sleds LOL that's sunny Arizona for you though

WTF……not again

Trying to update my Legend to 1.11 via mac Catalina…installed the driver …it went ok….Followed the directions 6 times to download the update….have everything connected, got as far as hitting the “UP” button and seeing UP on the screen….Hit the arrow right button “Trying to communicate”…..and the spiral just spins and spins….I know the cable is fine….My usb ports are only 3.0 on my computer and the driver installed…. I can’t believe this is still happening after all the issues from the last updates…..Any idea’s ?

btw……I tried to update from 1.09 if that means anything

I just updated on a mac from 1.09 to 1.11
Took a couple tries as my issue was the firewall but once the it went through and the tool downloaded I unplugged the usb cable then plugged it back in hit the ip button until UP appeared and the right arrow went through real quick.
I watched the youtube tutorial on my phone while doing it and just made sure everything looked the same.
It always seemed like it was just one simple step that held everything up and and once you find out what that is and get past it its all good.
Just keep looking at the tutorial video and make sure all the steps match up exactly and you will see where the hang up is. There is nothing wrong with the update tool it will go through smoothly just as long as all the steps match up

Okay, so under 1.11 when in Park mode, assuming no significant EMI, which multi-freq is best for coins/jewelry?
All three will work well. M3 does the best if there is a lot of Aluminum trash.

M2 I’ve found is the most sensitive and deepest with both the 6” and new 6x9.5 lg24 coil.
Another note in the air tests the 6x9 lg24 is a tad deeper than the 6” but more prone to picking up other close targets and masking.
Better and deeper coverage with the lg24 but better separation with the 6” it seems.
In small very very trashy areas the 6” is still better imo but more open areas the 6x9 is the way to go

DDog,
Thanks for the inspiration…..I had a doctors appointment, and came back home and used my computer skills to come up with the answer…. Nothing worked, so I did “Factory Reset”……Go back to ground zero so to speak…..I did the same sequence that failed miserably a number of times in the past, but it FINALLY worked this time !!….This detector must have overheard me talking about purchasing a different detector !….Anymore issues with this thing, and it will be a Legend alright !😱

To answer the question put forth….
Theoretically M1 is designed for coins jewelry etc, M2 for relics (and yes it will still get coins), and M3 for wet or damp ground. I found M3 in Park and G setting seems to help me hear the higher weak signals inbetween the low grunts.

just to add to what Ronstar: stated which he is spot on but the M3 is not only for wet or damp ground but highly conductive ground, ground does not have to be wet or damp always to be highly conductive.

I think the type of soil one has is relevant to how certain frequencies and modes work.
What works good for someone in one type might not for someone else in another and vice versa.
Most of you I assume are in the West or West coast with alot of mineralization or Northeast
I rarely see anyone post results in the Deep South East. Be nice and interesting as well.
I also think when someone asks what works best the ground conditions and location should be taken into consideration.
I haven’t detected in highly mineralized soil and can’t fully comprehend why someone can’t quietly detect 12” without any issues and here the ground balance is basically useless which is probably hard for some to fully comprehend.

Easy updating. I am computer dumb had my daughter do all previous updates. Watched Wicked Diggers video on updating and was done in 5 minutes.

Just received my Legend. Very pleased. Not so much that it is a ver. 1.05. That means I have to move to update sooner than I hoped. Oh well. I’m sure I’m making more of it than necessary- as my only pc is a chrome book ( can’t do on that. Right?)
I will do at work which means getting the administrator to allow me to download the updater. Further, pretty sure there’s no way to disable the antivirus. We will see soon enough.

Anyone try updating using a chrome book? It’s the only PC I own.
Unfortunately that won't work. I only have a Chromebook as well. It has to be a PC with Windows or a Mac or it won't even let you download the file. Believe me, I've tried. I'll probably take my Legend to work and see if I can download the file there.

I'm in East Texas where we have mild sand sites and also mineralized iron ore based red dirt sites. For me, M1 performs best on higher mineral sites. M3 on more conductive ground whether from moisture, rusty or the type of clay underlying. M2 for smaller targets especially in iron trash. All three Multis work very well across common targets. Experimenting over wild iffy targets is the best way to learn. Beach mode & MW is also useful on Inland sites in tough conditions as an alternative to M3.
