Could the X-terra Pro be a disguised twin frequency

I have read many articles that say single frequency is no good on wet salt sand. I have seen just how good the x-terra pro seems to be on wet salt sand, it did cross my mind that could this detector be a little
more than a single frequency running at the same time. Like maybe a SMF in disguise. I am probably wrong but it does seem to perform way too good for a single frequency detector. I think it looks to be a better
detector by far than the simplex . The depth on silvers looks to be excellent too.

I thought it would be stupid for ML not to run at least beach mode in smf. If I find out it does then I will definitely be getting one.

The audio on the x-terra pro sounds a lot like a equinox to me too. The poor mans equinox would be a good name for it.:)
The sad thing though is not a single dealer seems to have any of the new minelabs in stock. Manticore , Nox 700 / 900 / X-terra pro
are no where to be bought at this time. Why bring products out if you can't supply them.

Guys have found the Manticore at Bass Pro and Cabellas. My dealer said it is normal for the big box stores to get stock before the dealers. He is expecting 15 X-Terra pros by the end of next week.

I was able to get my Equinox 900 back in December. The dealer I bought it from had it drop shipped from the distributor. They are still struggling to get the Manticore out and God only knows how long it'll take to get the X Terra Pro rolled out. I preordered one & the dealer says they're expecting to ship them in the May 1 - 15 window but no guarantee on that.
I can't figure out how a company can announce new products without a plan to flood the marketplace with them.

In my country there are no new minelabs advertised that are in stock. Your dealer is expecting only 15 LOL. The population of the usa is well over 300 million and he has 15 lol.
the supply of terra pro's is like a rain drop in the ocean , same for the manticore. The demand for these detectors must be massive , can't they make them fast enough for some
technical reason or are they holding back supply's on purpose.

That is all he is allotted for the volume that he sells and he is a multi-line dealer.

Why do people think that there's something nefarious going on? This sort of thing happens far too often, and you'd think that folks would learn from previous experiences. Aren't there better things to worry about? I remember when the CTX came out, and all the same allegations were flying about, and none of them were true, they were all baseless nonsense and eventually everyone who wanted one had them.

Just relax people. I'm as excited to see the new Pro as anyone, but I'm not going to start or participate in ridiculous rumors/gossip.

Back when I was a lad this is all I had to play with.........LOL!!!!!

Anyone know the battery life on the xterra pro?
Usually they state the battery life in the specs but have not seen it.
I don't know but I would guess that it would be in the same ballpark as the new Equinox machines.

I don’t know though as it runs on more
lower frequencies that for a fact eat up more battery vs higher frequencies or even multi mode. Manufacturers usually list the battery life in the best case scenario which in the Nox would be in multi or one of the higher frequencies.
Everything else pretty much list the battery life

I've used an X Terra 705 for 14 years and never left the house without a spare set of fresh batteries. It's funny but after all that time I can't tell you how long the batteries lasted in the 705. I used them until they died and then put fresh ones in. I've been a little uncomfortable without having the option of spare batteries when using my Nox 900. I can see a power bank or two in the near future.

Thats why i never totally liked the idea of non removable rechargeable battery. You can always carry some extra batteries and good for the rest of the day. Main negative thing though is alot more expensive and not usually waterproof. The thing with power banks if you can run directly of one you can use it right away otherwise still takes time to charge and heavy to carry around.
Being it has an internal battery they should have an expected battery life number. Could be something like only 4-5 hours for all we know. I wouldn’t jump to a conclusion its on par with the 800 on anything in performance seeing that one is nearly $1000 more than the other.

The other thing be interesting to see as all detectors come down in price after they are out for a while. I can see it eventually at around $199. Probably have to look at detectors in the $200 price range for performance comparisons.
To think its great on the beach and as deep or discriminates/ separates in comparison to for example the 800 then you bought into the marketing strategy

It takes a lot more processing power to drive multiple frequencies than it does to operate on a single frequency. Four batteries in my 705 last longer than six do in my Explorer SE.

I know real low frequencies use up more as well. If you have a detector that can run either in multi frequency or choice of single frequency like the Nox. Run in multi and then run in 5khz and you will see a difference. I don’t know if a comparison between an older detector only running multi vs an older one only running a real low frequency like 3khz or 5khz is as accurate as one that can do both with the same exact battery and components

It still all boils down to processor demand, and the fact is that it does take more processor to run multi-frequency than single frequency.

I get that, but for whatever reason i run multi and battery lasts a while, run 4khz and battery drains very quickly. And im not the the only one who notices so can’t be i have a bad detector so whats the explanation then? From what
I’ve researched it takes more power to run 4khz vs 15khz. Maybe multi uses more than say 15khz but 4khz uaes more than multi? Its not just my observation and words. Maybe new processors and programs run different than older ones?
I don’t know man, its just whats out there from multiple sources.if you can find multiple sources saying the opposite then im really confused
