Any idea's what they stand for. This button has the letters NTFC around the star. Made by the Waterbury Button Co.

The bad news is that its not a T Miller Texas button made in the Houston area for Texas in the Confederacy and worth up to about $3500. But it may have some cash value
See if someone here has a copy of "Record of American Uniform and Historical Buttons" by Alphaeus H Albert. You might also check with the North South Trader and make an inquiry if it could
be Civil War related as they are the top source in Civil War items. Ask for Michael J. O'Donnell who is an expert on these kinds of things and an old friend and say Tim Wood recommended him.

 
I have Albert's book as well as Tice's. This button is not listed under Texas buttons in either one.
