Pinpointers What’s your favorite?

I hear the whites trx is good but they don’t make them anymore so getting new with warranty is out.
Garret carrot works for me in style and performance

I was out the first of the month detecting and unloaded everything out of the truck when I got home.
‘Didn’t notice until a few days ago my pinpointed is missing, when back to the field I was in and did not see it, had been some traffic there so someone picked it up.
‘It was a Garrett Carrot that I’ve had for years . It has served me well . I’ve looked for a Bulls Eye TRX but looks like there done.
‘Any commits on your favorite or should I just get another Carrot?
Xp MI4 My favourite . Nokta Pulse Dive second. Non rechargeable Pointers are a NO NO. They cost too much to run. Pulse dive is deeper for pinpointing from above ground
but i find i have to keep adjusting sensitivity on the device way too often.

My Garrett original, carrot, Fpulse, and TRX are all rechargeable. And if they run out of juice, I put another rechargeable in them. The cost to recharge is negligible. I don't need to take them home or to the vehicle to recharge them and they are ready to go again after the minute or two it takes to replace. I also have a MI6 which is rechargeable without changing batteries but I don't see any advantage there. Once I didn't pay enough attention to the start up lights and ran out of juice. I had to walk back to my truck a fair distance to retrieve a "non rechargeable" one to continue.

My carrot interferes with my T2 but a frequency shift solves that.

Overall, the TRX is my favorite and is deeper than the rest except maybe the MI6.

I've had them all. The Garrett "carrot" will probably be the most popular. To me, they were too prone to falsing for my liking. My favorite is the TRX. Next would be the F-Pulse or TekPulse. I have the XP one for the Deus but use the TRX instead. It is too easy to change modes on the XP when just trying to turn it on or off.

I always carry my TRX along with the F-Pulse on every hunt. Perfect pair

We have (3) Garrett black pinpointers, (2) Garrett Carrots, and (1) of the shaft mounted obsolete ones that everyone wants, can't think of the name.. One of the black Garretts has been back for repair twice, and I think one of the carrots has been back once.

I have an AT ProPointer with my Tesoro's, one with an F19, one with a FORS Relic, one with an F5. They all work great and pair it the MS3's.

I use the original pre carrot black Garrett. Still going strong after 14 years of use.

Love my Carrots. Still going strong
I've picked up a few new pinpointers last month.
Though the one I'm most interested in trying this season. Is the Quest XPointer Max.
The unique feature is it's ability to discriminate ferrous from non ferrous with a little display and tones. Getting close to a target iron will show X's.
Non ferrous will display O's.
Their page does not do it justice.
Turning up the sensitivity it goes as deep as my Carrots.

You can't run the x-pointer max at max sensitivity it's useless , i had one and it falses due to many reasons , EMI etc. I much prefer Xp MI4

How's it running Ollkoot ?
as the Coin Magician said I can not run mine on Boost mode because of all the magnetite in my ground but on high it works great for me no falsing at all or very little, the discrimination works great also at least on the one I just received in the last month does, the only thing I do not like about the X pointer Max is the buttons are a little small and hard to push, but once you set everything up in it you only have to power on and power off, again I am liking the X Pointer max a lot way more than my fisher F Pulse, Nokta Pulse Dive and Garrett original pro pointer, it has not inter feared with any of my detectors, at all

as far as boost mode I have not found any scenario I have actually needed the Boost mode yet, that one mode if you are on clean ground I believe will work great but have yet to test it out, I will also say that it is probably the most sensitive pin pointer I have used to date in my opinion and it is most definitely the loudest pin pointer I have used to date, I am wearing hearing aids and actually had to reduce the volume to around 3 because at 5 it was blaringly loud, i have no issues at level 3 volume hearing it sound off on targets.

the one thing I do wish is i wish I had waited and purchased the one with the Magic Holster because that seems like it would be a great feature to have, where it shuts down automatically when you put it back in the holster and starts back up automatically when you UN holster it to retrieve a target

I am also very interested in what Nokta is coming out with in the very near future with their new discriminating pin pointer that will be out shortly but I may purchase the new X pointer max with the Magic holster also, just to have back ups since I cannot stand my F Pulse and can barely tolerate my Nokta Pulse Dive, the Pulse dive is just to dang heavy and if you have ever seen a old man walking across a park with a metal detector and his pants down around his ankles you would understand what I am talking about LOL the Nokta Pulse dive is so heavy it will literally pull your pants down around your ankles if you aren't wearing suspenders, and the fisher F Pulse is so dang quite you cannot even hear it give a sound on a target and the vibration feature is no better, the F Pulse has absolutely no volume control at all and I can not for the life of me figure out what fisher tech was thinking by not adding a way of turning the volume up in the F Pulse also the other thing I do not like about the F Pulse is fisher made it way to easy to change settings by accident if you hold the power button a little to long when powering the F Pulse on it will literally change settings on the F Pulse, that is the other thing I like about the X Pointer Pro is the settings are not easily changed once you set it up the settings remain until you go through the process of re setting them.
