I have a question . I got a new legend detector yesterday . I read the booklet and I could not find how to reset it back to the factory setting.

And can you tell me the best settings on relic hunting and old home sites .I hunt in fields and the woods. I live in the Hanover Virginia area.

I have the same problem with my Legend as I want to turn it back to the factory settings , I was told it is in the owners manual , but I didnt see it. I also have Andy book and what it says didnt work for me either and going to look at it again to see if I am doing something wrong. I am glad you ask as I was going to ask also.
I am still trying to understand this detector with all the setting and how to set them, was use to my Minelab Sovereign where you just set it once and it was a turn on a go detector.
I hope someone will post how to do this.

for both of you first what version is your Legends, Legends with versions 1.04,1.05 and 1.07 do not have the ability to perform a factory default reset, the ability to perform a factory default reset was not added until 1.08 version which is now 1.09 so if you have a earlier version Legend than 1.09 and want to be able to perform a factory default reset you will need to update your legends to 1.09 at the very least

once you have updated your Legends to at least 1.09 to do a factory default Reset
with your Legend booted up, click the power button one time, then move over to the little man, once on the little man hold down the pinpoint reject button (bottom middle button) until you see FD in your Legend screen
Instruction are on page 25 in the new manual

Thanks for the info oldkoot, I got my Legend last fall and think it is the 1.09 or the 1.07 and will have to check. I got the down load in my computer right now which I was not able to with my Window 7 I had and got a new computer last month (Window 14 I think) and can be why I was able to down load to my download files.
Must have the 1.07 as I did what you said and hit the pinpoint after I went to the profile and it didnt do any thing .Now if I can download into my Legend the 1.09 or the 1.11 I can reset it to the factory setting and clear out what I may have put in the programs and start all over again.
I see where it will take a while to understand everything and I know it will take time and probably ask question as I go.

Not a problem, just ask and I will try to answer as best I can

one thing I read in your reply do not just click the pinpoint reject button but hold it down continually until you see FD, if your Legend has at least 1.09 it will then reset to factory defaults

one other thing if you purcased your legend last fall it will not be 1.09 it will in fact be either 1.04,1.05 or 1.07

I was looking at the Legend as a backup. Let me know how it works out for you. I'm in Hanover Co. too... Elmont to be exact. Close to Ashland. Good luck hunting.

As soon as you power in the detector it tells you in the upper right corner of the screen for a couple seconds what version it has. Just look for it when you power up the detector.
I don’t know if the updates work with older windows the current ones are windows 10 and the newest windows 11 you might have to update the operating system to one of those if your computer allows it. If not find someone with windows 10,11 or even a Mac you can use to do the update on the detector.

Worked fine with my win 7 Pro version and I now run 1.10 . In version 1.10 you have to key up the menu that shows at the bottom of the screen and use the arrow key to move the cursor over to the man symbol; then press the pinpoint key and hold it until the FD shows. It worked for me.

I know the church. I go by there often. Do you hunt that area where the old homesite once stood? Just down Pouncey Tract and to the left towards Rockville? That place looked (looks) good for detecting. Probably been hit hard though!
 
One other tip on the reset……
You will have to resync your bluetooth headphones, as well along with the clock.

Now I got though that and see my Legend is a 1.05 and wonder if I can go to the 1.08 or can go right to the 1.11 on the upgrade? Not sure which one would be better for me as a coin shooter.

I hunt near my house . Give me your text number so we can hook up. Behind my house they are some earth works.

well 1.08 no longer exist there was issues with 1.08 so nokta made some bug fixes and 1.08 quickly changed to 1.09

to answer the other part of your question 1.09 was good but I am finding 1.11 to be even better, the TIDs are much more stable where before the TIDs were very eratic in the earlier versions, now with 1.11 the TIDs seem very stable, both my legends with 1.11 run much more stable on the ground I detect and I am now able to detect with a higher sensitivity setting than I was able to achieve in the earlier versions, in the earlier versions including 1.09 I had to drop my sensitivety down to 15-19 to get both my Legends to run stable on the ground I detect, which is on the extreme side of mineralization, most of the time I had to drop my sens down to 16, now with the 1.11 I am able to run my sens at 26-29 and still keep both my Legends stable enough to detect with, most of the time my sens is at 27 now, I look at this as bad and good and what I mean is being able to run at a higher sensitivity on the ground I detect, I have questions in my mind (did Nokta Dumb the legend down a bit) that allows you to run with a higher sensitivity to achieve the same things I was able to achieve in the earlier versions at a way lower sensitivity setting, not sure just yet as I have not noticed any less depth or gained depth as of yet, the 1.11 version seems to be giving me the same depth as I seen in 1.09 so, so far I am very happy with the 1.11

I will also say that because I have two Legends, I was able to test 1.09 against 1.11 and each version has not seen anything the other version could not see, the 1.11 just seems to be way more stable is the only differences I have noticed from all the other versions
