Considering Deus2

north1

Well-known member
Posted previously that I have an Etrac and am satisfied with it but a few factors have me seriously looking at the Deus.

1. Weight. A hard life in agriculture has left me with back, hip and shoulder problems. Tried swingy thingy but too cumbersome.

2. Depth. With the 8x6 SEF coil I feel the older tech may be giving up some depth the Deus may provide.

3. Target separation/swing speed. After reviewing several videos it seems apparent the Deus is faster and better at target separation especially with the 9” coil.

Is the clip and charging of the coil that bothersome? Would prefer WS2 headphones due to full ear coverage over 6’s. Very windy we’re I live and the advantage of separate puck doesn’t seem that beneficial. Am I on base with my observations?

Any advice on how to set up the Deus in heavy, heavy iron I hunt in around abandoned farm sites? Something that mimics the Etrac in 2 tone ferrous? Over 90% of the time I operate on ground that has no current physical indicators of where things were. Like to hear the iron to pick up on areas of interest but properly identify it so as to avoid unnecessary time and effort. Although slow and problems with masking the Etrac is VERY good at this.

The D2 will SMOKE the eTrac in heavy iron and trash infested places. Not because the eTrac is lousy…simply because technology has advanced. Some people take some of this “detector talk” personally, and I understand why. People are proud of what they own and are sometimes very used to it. Brand loyalty has a lot to do with it at times. But if you are looking for…
Ergonomics
Performance
Superior warranty
Value for the money
Look no further. Your choices and observations are solid. 9” coil, full remote setup, WSA2XL phones(over ear full muff).
If you have been hunting in TTF with the factory iron line at 17 you will be ASTONISHED at what you have been missing. If you have the means you’re headed in the right direction. Just FYI, for what you want it will cost you around 1200$ USD if you call around. If you want to know where I got mine you can message me. With an open mind, you can make your hunting very fun again!

Well said IDX and then some! I absolutely love my D2!

The D2 with the 9” coil is super light weight, plus the ergonomics are excellent. I have been using the D2-9” RC version since last spring and it is awesome. If you decide to upgrade, you won’t regret it. Plus, at some point you can add an MI-6 pinpointer and link it to the machine so you can hear it thru the headphones or back phones. HH!

I like the D2 plenty. I have the 11 inch and it’s a beast. I had the Exp II for ten plus years, (still have it). One thing I miss is the two screens, numbers or display. So I need to get that down on the D2, toggle from one program to the XY screens for a double check.
D2 is wireless, waterproof and light weight.
For target separation just go a little slower, listen for both targets and or numbers,(similar to the Nox).
The charging clip is difficult at first but read the instructions and pay attention to how you get all three electronics connected. Don’t force them or they will break as folks said.
Good thing on this forum. I have stated this before, folks will guide you along with honesty.

well with the Ws2 it also a less expensive than going with the ws6 which is what I would do i like my 9" coil and check with Richard at Backwoods he gives great deals.
