Deus II Question

I run a Legend and have been very, very happy with it's capabilities. That said, I'm ordering a Deus 2 this Tuesday and will keep and run both until I settle on which one I like the best.

For the money can’t beat the legend. As with everything else you spend more money for convenience and other features.
What do you think will happen when you start working with something else thats half the weight and every bit as capable of what you are already using

Not sure I'm smart enough to run the Deus; time will tell. Also, at 78, weight IS an issue.

It was very intimidating when i was looking into it. After i got it and started to play around with it I laughed and said to myself you got to be kidding me, i was intimidated by this?
Just a little different is all.
I don’t think you will have any problems at all if you can use the legend. Even the Legend worried me at first.
Once you start using it going back will seem like a cement block
 
I was in a similar situation, I have a Deus 1 that I really like. I bought the Deus 2 and it arrived the day that update 1.0 came out. I did the update and had about 10 hours on it when update 1.1 came out. I updated it, but haven't had time to use it in the field.

Watch a couple of videos on YouTube and you should be ok, stick with the factory programs until you get comfortable. The factory programs are actually pretty good,.

Yep youtube will help you alot. Two in particular Gary Blackwell with xp and Mental Metal have some good ones describing all the programs and how to navigate the menus with no BS comparing brands and all the bias performance differences just straight up info about it and how to use it.
i just adjust little things right now like discrimination,sensitivity, reactivity which is the same as recovery speed on others to my liking but the possibilities seem endless what you can do with it. You should be very happy with it.
 
You guys are the best; I mean who needs an enabler to help me spend my money. I'm setting here right now ONLY thinking of the CONS not the PROS, but it's too late to change course now, especially since I've gotten all this encouragement.
At my age the anticipation of an event or happening is almost as thrilling as the happening; so looking forward to it's arrival hopefully within a week.

Just mentioned on another post. I also got the detec-ed carbon fiber lower shaft. Makes it even lighter, much stiffer with no flex, connects better at the coil, and not sure if you are going to use it underwater but has a hole so you can run the wire inside the shaft all the way to the remote. Just another option fyi
not sure if you got the remote version or the light with just the puck but putting them on your belt or in your pocket your detector is now at 1.5 lbs
