Questions about the Bandido Umax

Hi. Just bought an used Bandido Umax in excellent condition, and i was wondering if someone could comment about this model, share some tips, what frequency does it use and what are the alternative coils available for it. Thanks and have a great Xmas!

I havent used it. I have the Bandito II uMax. I really like mine. I'm sure that they are fairly similar. 10 khz detector. Uses all the older coils(except for the Lobo ST coils). Did yours come with a manual? You may be able to get one and maybe a field test of one from Heidi at Tesoro(Heidi@Tesoro.com). I have gotten field tests for the older Tesoro detectors that I've tried, and have found them to be invaluable. Hopefully someone with specific experience can help you out more.

After reading the field test on the Lost Treasure site, It appears that I need to just keep my trap shut, and let people who know what their talking about post about detectors!

You can click on the link below and probably find a field test on the Bandito detector that you purchased.

I you don't have a manual, you can go to the Tesoro website and download it.
Good luck with your detector,

I see field tests for 2 banditos on the Lost Treasure website.
One is listed as the bandito micromax.
The link for this test is below.
Check it out and see if this is the right one.... Let me know.

There are two listings for the bandito detector.
One listing is for the micromax bandito. If you look at the test it refers to it as the U-max bandito.
check it out and see. Hopefully this is for your detector.

There are two field tests on the Lost Treasure site for the bandito.
I think the one you are looking for is down below the one the banditoII.
check it again.

I cannot comment about this model but with the original bandido if you are ground balanced properly, this machine will pick up good targets in bad iron at zero disc. In other words if you have the dial set on iron or "0" you can run over all the square nails you want to and perhaps you might get a pop here and there but if you get any pitch that is not broken, you better dig as you have found something good. This is a great machine for relic hunting and literally any questionable "pop" sound at the "0" setting needs to be investigated and dug. You will find relics and goodies that others left behind...because of the great discrimination of the Tesoro line.
