Hello to all. I have been treasure hunting for 3 years and have had excellent success especially this year. The area I live in has Fields, Farms & Beaches. Until a few months ago I used a GARRETT 350 and while it is not a complex detector it has yielded me very good results. Looking to step up my game I bought a NOKTA Relic. Getting used to the various search modes and their parameters is like starting out fresh. Just now I think I am understanding IMask which had me a bit confused. So you see what I mean. It will take time. So then just wanted to say HI and look forward to using this forum to learn the TIPS, TRIPS, & TRAPS from the pro's here.Have a good day and good luck.

You can send a PM with specific questions as well. I find it faster to get precise answers that way myself.
My advice to you is to go back at the same places where you had success with your previous detector. You could be surprised at what you left there especially if the areas were trashy. Welcome to the forums.

Active detectors and accessories: Fisher F19 LTD on Mars universal shaft, F19 on original shaft, Nokta Fors CoRe, Whites MX7, Makro and Nokta pointers. Killer B's and Jolly Rogers headphones and assorted coils.
Previous detectors in order of acquisition: Bounty Hunter Discovery, Fisher F44, Fisher F5, Omega 8000 V6, Minelab X-Terra 705

• Welcome to the Nokta Forum.

• You will get very good advice from Nokta FORS series users here who have good field-time experience.

• You can get some direct replies to specific questions by using a PM or e-mail to contact different individuals.

• There is little doubt that you'll be able to re-hunt former sites with the Relic and the right search coils and settings and make some good recoveries.

• I am the 'Monte' character referred to, and can assure you the Relic units in my Regular-Use Detector Team are there because they work great and serve me very well. Feel welcome to PM me or shoot an e-mail to me at monte@ahrps.org or monte@stinkwaterwells.com and I'll answer any specific questions you might have.

By the way, here are some opportunities for encouragement I'll share with you or any reader who might want to enjoy some hunting experiences this coming April and May of 2018. We are going to be holding three (3) Welcome-to-Hunt Outings to work a number of old ghost town sites where anyone will have equal opportunity to find old coins, trade tokens, military related artifacts, Chinese Cash Coins, bullets, cartridge cases, buckles, buttons and all sorts of interesting 'keepers' associated early-day activities related to pioneering settlements, busy high-use railroading towns, and gold mining era places, all having their periods of activity from about 1863 up to around 1915 or so. We have held two WTHO's each year in 2015, 2016 and 2017, and these are open to anyone who wouild like to participate in some fun and meet a bunch of great people in this sport.

The 7th WTHO will be the last weekend in April based here in Eastern Oregon, and the 8th and 9th WTHO's will be out of different locations in Nevada in May. No cost to join any club or group, just show up with a good detector for iron littered Relic Hunting sites, fresh batteries, and a desire to have a great time and find stuff!

If you want info and to get on the WTHO Contact List, just e-mail me your Name, Mailing Address, Phone Number and E-mail contact and you'll get the WTHO updates so you can prepare to have an enjoyable time. By the way, I do not share any contact info. :nono:

'strawberry' enjoy your Relic! I know I enjoy both of mine.

Monte

Thank to you all that replied to my first posting. It did not occur to me to revisit an area but I will do just that and see what my new RELIC and I can do. A great first tip. Thank you.
