I am so JEALOUS, the most beautiful thing I have ever seen come out of the ground. Frankish or Merovingian brooch from the Dark ages, almost certainly a chieftain's. Value? Easily a five figure number I would think.

Kaolinwasher, FAKE??? I think not. I have been hunting for ancient coins and artifacts throughout Europe since 1995, this is the real deal Sir.

Almost certain its the real deal, its a thing of beauty for sure,we have similar items like that over here in the UK,possible from a grave or possibly part of a larger hoard that may be even deeper,it certainly was for someoen like a chieftan or some other high ranking person.

Lovely find, value of something like that is in the beauty and the history behind it,not in monetary value.

Detecting is normally 89% frustration due to trash/iron, 5% I wonder what it is, 3% nice coinage/artefact, 2% wow that’s worth something and 1% YIPPEE it’s a find of a lifetime.

It’s a case of take it slow and easy and something will turn up one day.
