I like the arborwear pants I've had several pairs for over 5 years now fit great and great cargo pockets and dry super fast they'[re made in a heavy canvas or lightweight
breathable material not cheap but very nice!

Since I wear a large utility belt f or digging tools, pinpointers, finds and occasional trash(yea right) my go to for the last few years has been coveralls. Incredibly comfortable even when squatting, no worrying about your pants sliding down(at least to your love handles) and no worrys with waste adjustments. It is denim though. Still on my first pair but have had to do knee patches so the pads would be a plus.

Pants are good but Boots are really important, footwear is one of the most important thing you see people neglecting. if you got feet of clay your bodies going to crumble.

Duluth makes some high quality gear for the working man. I have been using the Carhart double front dungarees for years, you can buy them with lining for winter hunting. I buy throwaway foam knee pads cut them to size, roll them up and slid them into place.

I always thought farmer brown bib pants would be great....but not being from farm country would stand out in a crowd and like to blend in around local areas..
Truthfully don't think I would have the guts to wear them but bib would hold them up and have good deep pockets...Belt and gear always pulling my pants down is a problem..

I’ve had a pair for two years now and they are the best. Plenty of pockets, and a nice Velcro strap that holds your pin pointer. The built-in kneepads are a must. They also have them in a lighter weight. I’m getting a pair of those for the summer season. Plus they are excellent urban camouflage. Put on a yellow vest and no one will ever bother you.

As the beer gut grows, just wear em down below your cheeks like the current trend in "fashion". In hot weather just wear your speedos.

I bought a pair of these Mascot -Amada work pants, just for detecting. As these are a product of Denmark, they are found mostly in EU sizes(a search will find a conversion size chart). Also, they can be high priced (up to $180 + sh), unless -- you find them at special pricing. Found mine on Amazon for $55.Made of 65% poly/35% cotton, very, very well constructed and they have pockets for every thing except a large digger. But, as I use an adjustable long handle trowel for that,do not need. And,the knee pad pockets are large enough for a set of Ergodyne Proflex pads.Perfect for me.
