Equinox 800 head to head with the Deus.

I have been using the Nox 800 to get some time in with it. It has replaced my 11 inch deus coil. Will it replace my 9 hf coil on the deus?video: https://youtu.be/8sHb36xQqSk

Thanks for sharing Calabash,

Those are the same results I'm getting, have both the Equinox and Deus. And I agree, Equinox needs a smaller coil. I would rather see a 9" over a 6" though, 6" is too small and the stock 11" is too big in poor ground.

Here out West, for relic hunting the Deus using the 9" HF coil with 54 kHz is better at unmasking in thick iron over my Equinox. I'll flag targets at an old site with the Deus using the 9" HF coil with 54 khz, Reactivity 2.5, then go over with the Equinox using 40 kHz with 7 or 8 recovery. Hands down, Deus is the winner see's masked targets the Equinox can't.

Also, In some areas can't use Multi-freq in poor soil with the Equinox, need to run with single freq 40. Otherwise, it suffers from poor stability. But with single freq 40 khz, I can increase sensitivity yet maintain stability gaining back some depth.

Equinox is a good unit, I use it were it does well. In areas thick with iron, or in poor soil the Deus has an edge in these areas.

For Park turf or ocean wet sand, hands down I'll grab the Equinox over a Deus. But for relic hunting, I'll grab the Deus. Like you, that's all I use now with the Deus is the 9" HF coil will never go back with a regular Black LF coil.

Both are exceptional detectors, use them were they do best.

Thanks again for taking the time to make the video.

I agree both are great and have their place. My soil is mild and both are very deep here. The Nox will get used in my field s and open woods sites ... The deus will still be the go to in the tickest iron.. I cant wait to see the 6 inch coil though it might be like a hockey puck coil on steroids but we will have to wait and see.

In my honest opinion the test most are waiting for is the one between the Equinox 800 and the White's Spectra V3i! It is the only one that can possibly compare to the Equinox 800! And, it can not honestly be compared to the Equinox 800! Just my two cents worth!

The Equinox 800 is Dummy Proof compared to the V3i.

The Equinox 800 has the capabilities of scanning the 40 kHz complimenting gold.

A detector can only do what it has the capabilities of.

I think that if the iron bias would be set to 0 this test would be better? because it is set to 2 in this test ... What do you think?

To much falsing on iron set at 0 imo so I tested both machines at the actual settings I use in the field...

I have tried to line a test up with a experienced v3i user but it has not happened yet as he is very busy these days..

I agree on the 6" coil size being too small. My preference would be something a bit bigger as well, 7" being the minimum.

I'll bet the coils for the Equinox is going to be the same deal as the ones for the CTX (which is 11", 6" & that large one).-----Unless maybe Coiltek makes one or two for Minelab.
