Yeah, you and Vlad sum it up pretty well...

Yeah, whatever remnants there were of Hitler's Christian upbringing became pretty twisted in his twisted mind: that Jesus was not a Jew, but was really of Aryan decent, his desire to remove all Jewish references from the Bible and create a "positive christianity" Reich church more suited to the German race. Though he was for the most part indifferent about religion, as Vlad mentioned, he knew he had to coddle the German people (about a 70% - 30% split Protestant and Catholic and about 1% Jewish) in speeches and outward shows of support for christianity.

But always at the centre of that, untermensch. the view that Jews, Arabs, Poles, Serbs, gypsies, blacks etc were subhuman, with the Jews to be exterminated outright, the others used for slave labour. Strangely, with those ideas, Hitler had a lot of help from the father of the Protestant Reformation, Martin Luther (1483–1546), who in latter life ranted about the Jews and wrote that their schools and synagogues should be burnt, deny them safe passage, take away their wealth, that they were dogs and the German people are to blame for not killing them.

WWII German Field Bible

Odd isn't it. Though it would be a pretty unreasonable stretch to call WWII a religious war, there at it's heart is religion, albeit a pretty twisted nationalist religion. Both sides claiming God on their side; fathers, sons, brothers on both sides carrying Bibles into battle, Mothers, wives on both sides praying for victory, but mostly for protection and the safe return of loved ones. And in the end, the people of Germany praying that when the defences of their towns and villages fell, that they fell to the Americans and not to the Russians.

Christians at war with Christians, for the most part in the European theatre anyways (not to forget 500,000 of Jewish decent and 15,000 Muslims in the US forces, 1 million muslims that fought under the British flag, including the Palestine Regiment in which Jews and Muslims fought side by side, as well as a couple million muslims in the Russian army). For the most part though, Christians at war with Christians.

But again, not really a religious war... more a war of a twisted religious/nationalism that was rotting and evil at the core, more of a war in the defence of freedom. As President Roosevelt said at the time in his speech, the Four Freedoms,
"In the future days, which we seek to make secure, we look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms.

The first is freedom of speech and expression—everywhere in the world.

The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way—everywhere in the world.

The third is freedom from want—which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants—everywhere in the world.

The fourth is freedom from fear—which, translated into world terms, means a world-wide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor—anywhere in the world.

That is no vision of a distant millennium. It is a definite basis for a kind of world attainable in our own time and generation. That kind of world is the very antithesis of the so-called new order of tyranny which the dictators seek to create with the crash of a bomb.

— Franklin D. Roosevelt, January 6, 1941"

"Come get your duds in order 'cause we're bound across the water,
Heave away, me jollies, heave away.
Come get your duds in order 'cause we're bound to leave tomorrow,
Heave away, me jolly boys, we're all bound away..."

Here is the text of a letter I sent to the Episcopal Church, USA regarding the decision to remove plaques commemorating RE Lee and G Washington from their church:

Churches all over in Europe and even the U.S., have already removed statues of Saints, crosses, pulpits, and altars, so as to not offend our new illegal immigrants of Islam. URL

Poland has resisted the EU's open border immigration. They hold steadfast and have constantly told the EU to "stick it".N/T

bulletman442November 02, 2017 11:52AM

Video: The Polish people marched against Muslim immigration. It was the largest march in Polands history. I believe it was 150,000 strong! We should learn a lesson from the Polish people.

Now as you've pointed out on a number of occasions, bullets, you are Jewish...

Steve(Can)143November 02, 2017 02:24PM

I haven't seen any Christians or Jews involved with MASS killings lately??

bulletman464November 02, 2017 07:19PM

Fair enough. Out of interest and while I've got you on the line, Bulletman, from your perspective was Hitler a Christian?N/T

Steve(Can)124November 02, 2017 10:27PM

Thanks Steve. You are 100 percent correct, and I didn't want to be the one "pointing the finger" at one of the two churches that collaborated with Hitler!N/T

bulletman179November 04, 2017 11:15AM

Given the history, what i don't understand, Bulletman...

Steve(Can)122November 04, 2017 11:57AM

The Jewish people have been fighting for their existence for thousands of years against Egypt, the Arabs, and now the Muslims. Why should we give in and allow them to terminate our existence???

bulletman110November 04, 2017 02:21PM

While 0bama did not list Israel as terrorist he treated them as a cancer to be excised Gif Attachments

Steve: A constant nagging within my mind. You remind me of my father , who is a pacifist jew.

bulletman105November 04, 2017 03:26PM

Actually, Bulletman, it was one of the things that I always thought was kind of different about you...

vlad139November 02, 2017 09:05AM

Steve(Can)109November 01, 2017 09:52PM

Steve(Can)134November 02, 2017 09:17AM
