It depends on which one of the Excals you have, if you have one of the old NY Sword units chances are its going to leak.
Unlike the newer Excals these old units were built in two pieces. You have the piece with the five knob bushings and then you have the main tube. They are glued together and over time the epoxy breaks down and this is where the leaks occur. Many people believe the leaks occur in the "O" rings but that's generally not the case. It's a crap shoot if you buy one of these old Excals that has not been pressure checked for leaks. Out of the six Sword units I checked I had to repair 4 of them.
