First the snap pins in the Sov and the Excalibur differ in position - side vs bottom holes. You can drill your shaft to accept both lower rods or just go with the Sov lower and put the Excalibur coil on it. Next if you are not hip mounting the Excalibur you have to decide how to attach it to the shaft. Behind the elbow on an extension offers excellent balance. Pluggers shaft extension might be a workable solution or you could drill your shaft under the armcup and attach the control pod with nylon screws and wing nuts. Measure to be sure you have enough space for the pod to comfortably mount.
A straight shaft is a must. I usually use an Anderson carbon fiber straight shaft and alternately a pluggers 3 piece travel with behind the elbow extension when I'm traveling by air. Whatever you do use a knob guard. Hope this gives you ideas.
