Probably regret it

I probably will, but I listed my MXT AP on the for sale forum. I bought a V3i just had to many machines. I sold 2 others and the MXT was sitting unused and I just decided it needed to go to a good home too.

I've enjoyed posting here and your company, I hope I didn't make a serious mistake. Who knows, I might end up getting another one some day. I've noticed quite a few here have!!

It depends. Most people who try the V3i are just overwhelmed with learning how to best use it, so much to learn. You should allow yourself at least a year to get a good grasp on it.

The MXT is a very good easy to learn detector and that appeals to a lot of people.

Bells and whistles are nice, but nothing will substitute for the basic understanding of the hobby.

I made the same choice 10 years ago, the V3i is long gone and the MXT PRO is once again the only detector I own after trying Minelab Etrac, Deus, TDIPRO, GMT......I love not having to retrain myself everytime I pick up my PRO. Simplicity and performance keep the hobby fun for me.
