Excellent day

I tried to go sailing today but the wind was blowing way too hard and called it quits. Went detecting after lunch and after 5 minutes of searching and not even finding a pull tab, I started to think that today was just not going my way. Finally, started to get some signals. I am still digging everything because this is only my 3rd time out, but, I am starting to tune my ear to the various tones of my new detector. I heard something other than the pulltab/nickel sound and the scoop delivers the medallion. Chain has to be near but a slow thorough sweep of the area yields nothing. An hour later, out pops the solitaire but I can see the solitaire is worn away and is a CZ. At least the mount is 14K solid. There ought to be a law that says you cannot wear CZs in the water, only the real thing!

In my experience, when you dig about twenty CZ's like that stone, a real one about one-quarter the size (or less) will come up--something like the penny to dime ratio. Would post some of my CZ's but there so many and blinding it would be a hazard.
Keep 'em coming--shows you're on the right track.

Steve - Nice haul !! Lots of times guys start out digging all then let up and only dig certain signals. That is a big mistake - as I get more years on detecting (25 so far) I am digging more signals and finding way more goodies.
Something to consider, Steve in so az
