That will depend on what machine you are using....... where on the beach you can hunt.... wet/dry sand. Most recommend ........ SunSpot, StavR, Xtreme, or Quest Scoop. Then you need to decide price range and size of holes you want...... i recommend 1/2". You can spend a crazy price on a CF pole.......but personally i use a fiberglass HOE handle and put a hard wood dowel in the bottom to strengthen it and so it dont split with all the pulling and twisting. Cheap...... $15 maybe...... mine has lasted for nearly 5 years. The are sealed and float. dry sand hunting you can get away with a smaller and cheaper scoop made for that. BUT in the wet sand or water..... best take a look at the others ive mentioned. Obviously there are CHEAP scoops on Free B if you only go rarely.

If you buy a $20 post Hole digger at WalMart, you get two of the nice fiberglass poles.

Be sure to get good diameter measurements before going to the hardware store. Not all scoops use the same handle diameter and not all handles are the same anyway.

Depending on the capability of your detector to work on wet salt sand or in the water as to what one needs. I prefer a larger scoop for the water as it aids in getting the target when you can not see the coil or the scoop. If you are limited to the dry sand then a smaller scoop is adequate.

Garrett Pro Pointer
Leche digging tool
Minelab Excalibur II
T-Rex 9.5 wet sand scoop

Water hunting is the plan..Really appreciate all the info Guys..N/T
