M.D. Goals for 2018. What are you planning to do?

I'm posting this question on this forum and not the metal detecting forum because most of us have FBS detectors which may or may not? make a difference to the answers to this question.
For me, this next year will see me moving to Utah and 450 miles approx from the SoCal beaches which I've grown to love detecting. It is less than 1hr drive to the West Coast beaches where I currently live.
So for me the dynamics will change from detecting fairly 'modern' parks (and beaches) to much older locations like ghost towns, trails and historic spots in 'Iron County' UT. It will be an exciting and a new adventure, so it's hard to plan goals for the new terrain, but I'm interested and I think most other's are interested in your goals/wishes/aspirations for the New Year!!!

Thank you for your comments so far.
One of my goals is to SLOW DOWN. I feel like I have to cover a lot of ground in order to find targets so I tend to speed up. It's funny because when I was new to detecting, I used to observe some guy's swinging their coil a good few inches off the ground and walking at a fairly fast pace not covering all the ground. I kinda followed their example and after a while, realized that's not the way to do it. I still find it hard to slow down but I have also realized that I miss targets when I do that.
Another goal for me is to DO MORE HOMEWORK AND RESEARCH. Moving to another state (Utah) next year, this will be a must do and I'll have to put the time in to research possible sites if I want to achieve good results.
Moving to the edge of a small town with the likelihood of running into maybe a mountain lion? or something/somebody else out there in the 'sticks' will mean I need to carry a weapon. Here in California where gun law's are crazy strict, you cannot just walk out the door with a gun. You'll be surrounded by police officer's gun's drawn!! BTW, I love cop's and my son-In-Law is an L.A. County Sheriff's deputy. As was his Dad, including other family member's and they are all great guy's!
So much for my goals, how about yours for the New Year?

1) I got spinal stenosis & its a @#$%& to get up after digging. Walking can be painful too. So I HOPE the PT helps !
2) Get the old Garrett GTA500 working again for the grand kids.
3) Get an Equinox if they pan out for the real trashy areas & so my squaw has her own machine.
4) No bucket listers. Just OK health & a little more silver......

Slowing down is always a good one. Even when I make it a point to slow it up after awhile I have to tell my self to slow it up again ); This year I will continue to get permission to hunt older house. The town I live in now is mostly from the 40's. Plus got a homestead that has disappeared into the farm land. Hopefully a few goodies will come up out of there...

All great comments! Klever...isn't that the truth! I slow down purposely and then speed up myself. It's great to do that on the beach but in those parks and on permissions, it's crucial to slow down and give the detector time to process those sometimes many multiple signals, especially around old homes and buildings. The signal may be so faint among all that iron, building materials, nails and foil that it's so easy to pass on. If I'm in any doubt whatsoever, I'll approach and sweep from different angles for the coil to single out that stash or gold or silver coins!!lol Yeah right!!! We all live in hopes that we find that hidden cache from long ago!!!!
