I remember purchasing this knife 30 or so years ago. I have never been able to find info of the ingraving. Hoping someone familiar with military marking can help.
The blade is marked A-713. The handle has what looks to be Y1 of Y7 SF. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I think it is a personal GI identification.
Could be part of his dog tag serial number.

No. Cal. Gold Country
XP DEUS / 9"-11"-11X13" coils
Garrett Pro Pointer
6000 Di Pro SL
MXT Pro / 300, 10D2, 950, 6X9 Eclipse, 4X6 Shooter
DX-1 and Sun Ray Pro Golds

Keep your head down, your swing smooth and Coil to the soil

Since its a Navy knife you may try contacting someone that's been in the Navy or ask at your local Naval Recruiter office for someone to contact.

A unit armored often marked the weapons inventory to keep track of items like knives, etc. There are no unique serial numbers on knives. Peace Roy
