Heavy Uniformly Flattish Round-ish... Whatisit-ish

Hi Everyone. New to this site. Fisher F2 found this chunky heavy lump of coinishly uniformly flat 5mm thick metal, possibly bronze as per size/weight relation to Metal Density, but - What is it? Owt or Nowt. Suggestions on a postcard. It was found close to a river in woodland. Apart from washing off the dirt Ive left it untouched. Around the edges are darkened smoothed spots on the 'pie crust' peaks which makes me think Ive found what was once used as a handheld "cutting/chipping" tool. There were loads of signals inc good 'uns at 88-100 and a few lovely tones rang through my headphones so I'm looking forward to going back to this place.

Maybe a flint-knapping tool?

I have found lots of flat chunks of cast iron, aluminum, wrought, bronze, etc. Some square, some round. I think many items are broken or destroyed over time. Hydrants, transmission casings, pots, pans, kettles, statuary. This is why I detect. Peace Roy
