T2 Classic or G2+ for tot lot gold?

I have been researching this to death and I am at a stalemate. I am undecided on which to get. The T2 classic or G2+. The g2+ uses a higher frequency, which I read is better for smaller gold items such as earrings and chains. I am looking for a dedicated tot lot detector. My only purpose for this detector is silver and gold jewelry, no relic hunting. Anyone have experience with both on jewelry hunting? I know most detectors have trouble picking up thin gold chains, so I am trying to decide which would have better performance, and a better likely hood of picking up gold chains and small jewelry. Thanks in advance.

I use the G2+ and a 13 kz machine. I would recommend the G2+. It's very stable and great on tiny targets.
The only con I see is the battery life. G2+ battery life is around 15 hours whereas the T2 is 40.

Thanks! I am not really concerned about battery life. I dont detect more then 4 hrs at a time on average. So recharging isnt a problem after a hunt. How is your g2+ with a thin chain?

I mainly relic hunt so haven't found any gold chains. Would like to though.

I can't comment on the G2... but I get very good results from a small gold chains, a tiny gold clasp and small gold ear ring stud and a tiny thin gold chain all found at tot lots. It works very well With both the stock and is razor Sharp With the 5" .... I have no regrets with my classic T2... the newer model
May get even better results... tot Lot Finds are Shallow, that being said
The T2 is a Fairly deep Machine in my dirt....

Cannot comment about the G2 but my 'original' T2 which is 10 years old has found me some very small celtic gold 1/4 staters with the 5'' coil and these are very small coins, albeit they are not jewellery as such but when you go over these coins which some have been down too about 5-6'' deep has really banged out a decent signal.

Very fine gold chains can be a problem but if they have say a clasp or a charm on them then you will have a far better chance for finding micro fine jewellery, even very high freq nugget machine like the GMT or even Pulse machines with small coils on can struggle on fine chains.

The T2 with the 5'' coil on is still one of my deadliest combinations for small gold finds that i use, probably that crown belongs to my TDI Pro with the 6'' Coiltek Mono

Thanks for everyone's reply. I see that the T2 seems to be the most popular and praised machine. I have decided on the T2, but now which one? The T2 Classic or the T2 LTD?? According to Teknetics website, the only difference is tone alerts and a back light for the screen. Is that really worth the $300 difference in price? Or am I missing something?

A backlight screen would be nice... but not for $300 more. That $300 is a lot
of additional coil.... I would certainly pick up a 5" coil if you get a T2

There are some videos on YouTube comparing chain signals between a GoldBug and a compadre.
Gold bug is pretty much same as G2.
Compadre is also a great option for tot lot gold.
I've found a couple tiny gold rings and chains with mine in the wood chips.

While I really like the T2-C, I feel the F75 with the concentric coil options available make it much more versatile all around and is the better option for small gold jewelry.

Just one mans humble opinion.

As you all ready have a AT Pro and i would assume that you have great knowledge of using it,why dont you just get a small coil for it about 5'' i would think that they must be made for that machine ?? certainly NEL make a small 5'' coil and then you would have a dedicated micro jewellery set that is even waterproof.

While i am having problems with my right wrist i am putting the 5'' coil back on the T2 again,so at least i can still detect, for its size its amazing how deep this 5'' coil goes, always blown away the depth that it achieves.

I no longer have the At Pro. I just havent removed it from the list.

Any videos or reviews of the F75 tested with thin gold and silver chains? I cant seem to find any on youtube.

I know I shouldn’t say this on this thread, but why not a compadre? I mean the original poster said he wants a machine for jewlery and that’s it,,why spend so much money when a compadre will do that?Visual id means nothing when jewlery hunting, except passing up a gold chain....
