Hi All:

I've had the BH Platinum for 3 weeks now but have not had a lot of time to use it yet. So far I've found 2 wheaties, 1925 and one I can't read the date as it was found in a dirt driveway, a memorial cent dated 1978 and some usual junk such as foil, pull tabs, old nails, screws and the like. I do have to say though, this detector is pretty much on the money as far as target ID. I will post more as I go along but so far this is a winner.

It is a good detector, deep, large display and plenty of features. It is very simular to the teknetics gama 6000. Try a fisher f5 5 inch coil with the push in connector and it will really shine. HH!

I have the Platinum paired with a Cors Fortune (same as the Nel Sharpshooter), and it's a great combo. I considered the F5 DD, but it was pricier than the Cors. My only complaint with the stock 6" concentric was that it sounded off when it hit blades of grass, especially when the grass was wet, and the tone it would give was usually a high tone. The new coil took care of that issue. The Cors comes with a coil cover, and I wondered if that is what made the difference. I like the separation that the DD coil gives me, though it's a bit heavier. However, it is still no heavyweight, and a joy to detect with.

You'll love your machine the more you use it.

Thanks for the tips guys. I am hoping to get some detector time in this weekend but with the holiday, it may be tough. Had it out in my yard some but just junk so far. This place was built in 1950 so hoping to end up with some silver. My parents place is where I really want to hit hard as that goes back to the late 1880's. Best of luck on your next hunts!
