A Few Farm Trip Finds

I visited my parent's farm on the south west side of the state for part of the weekend as it had been awhile since I was there.
The Weather was very nice and mom's home cooking was even better.
Dad and I were able to fire up our antique Farmall tractors and take them out for a spin.

The last mercury dime of the weekend was my 191st silver coin for the year (25 old quarters for the year).

Most all of the finds made were on the way back home yesterday as the temperature hit 50 degrees in that area and the ground was very soft.
I stopped at about 4 different small town parks to make these finds. The 1948 silver dime was a solid 9 inch coin and locked on "Silver Quarter" numbers so
I was initially disappointed when it came out of the hole but was also glad it was a silver coin.

The last coin I dug was a solid 10 inch 1891 Indian head penny and I was happy to get that right before I quit. It was 13 years older than the founding date of the town it came from.
The old good for 5 cents brass token was pulled from the same area as the Indian penny.

Also found was some encrusted nickel sized object I have not been able to identify, an old watch, a personalized "Ralph" bracelet and an old cuff link.
The other item is top of an old salt shaker. The large item with fake stones in it must be some sort of buckle.
Silver dimes are 1939,1941,1948,1964. Jefferson nickel is 1948 and wheat pennies are back to 1917.

191 Silver coins... WOW and WOW. I'm pretty sure I haven't dug that many in the last decade. I always appreciate your posts! Congratulations.

Always look for your posts to see what you came up with on your weekend jaunts. 191 is a great year, but guessing you'll break the 200 mark easily again, unless the weather locks your parks up. Regardless, I'll keep looking for your posts.

Congrats on an awesome year of finds FPD. Glad I got to see them as you found them. You'll hit 200 silver on your next lunch hour. HH as always.

Very Nice Dave,

Must have been a fun road trip stopping at multiples places on the way back.

I always love a road trip through the little towns out in the country and look forward to finding the old drive-ins or diners for a bite to eat.

Great finds! I love digging old tokens as much as coins.
