A Few Nice Digs: SLQ With A Date And Masonic Pendant

I was able to get in a couple of nice hunts over the holiday weekend and made few nice finds. I hunted a house lot where they are about to build on. The old house was built in the 50's and I found a few wheats and some silver dimes. I also dug a neat coin from Austria and a Cascade Bourbon Token. Saturday my oldest daughter and I had time to drive out to an old school I found on the maps. We found a few wheaties a buffalo nickel and a couple of silver dimes before getting a nice 12-47 on the Etarc. I was hoping for a silver quarter and I was happy to see that shiny rim showing through down about 6". I knew it was a quarter but I covered it back up and called my little girl over to pinpoint it out and share in the excitement. It was fun watching her recover it and even more when we saw that it was a nice SLQ. It's been a long time since I got one with a date. We didn't find much more as it was getting dark and cold. The last thing we dug was a pendant or medal and just thought it was an award from the school. After cleaning it up, it is a Heroines Of Jericho pendant and has to do with The Royal Arch Masons. I included a piece describing the title that I copied from a website.

"This is the name of an honorary or side Degree conferred on Royal Arch Masons, their wives, and daughters. It is intended to instruct its female recipients of the claims which they have upon the fellow-members of the Fraternity for protection, and to provide effective means of proving their connections with members of the Order. The ritual is based upon the story of Rahab, the woman of Jericho. Males who receive the Degree are called "Knights of Jericho." — ( Joshua 2:1-24 - Joshua 6:22-25 - Hebrews 11:31 )"

Hey Dave,
Very nice hunt and great finds. Have you went back to the old church you found the Barber half at a month or so ago?
As far as the 2 cent piece you was asking about I couldn't tell you the numbers it came in at. It was in such tuff shape I would guess it would not have been very accurate anyway.

Nice details on the SLQ! They don't come up looking that nice very often for sure. Especially like the Masonic pin.

Thanks Ron! Yeah I'm always happy if one of the kids are wanting to tag along. It's a lot more fun when they do!

Thanks DV! No I haven't been back there or even asked about cutting the field to detect it.

Killer finds for sure. I found one SLQ a few years ago. My one and only then turned around and lost it.
