Southern Weekend Road Trip Yields Huge Silver FFA Class Ring, 1899 Plow Token and silver coins

I took advantage of the good weather forecast last weekend. Fellow detectorist James and I headed about 500 miles south to detect old city parks and schools.
James did very good on the big silver and also got a pile of silver dimes. I seemed to be running into the rings along with few quarters and a variety of dimes and nickels.
A majority of the signals we ran into were very deep or partially masked by iron.
Pictures do not do that sterling silver FFA class ring justice. It weighed in at 17 grams (.6 ounces) so it is a lot heavier than a half dollar.
It appears to be size 11 1/2 as it is big enough to fit me.
The Syracuse Chilled Plow token is circa 1899. It was made right after the Spanish American War. The reverse displays Admiral Dewey who had involvement in that war.
The Suspender Clasp is very old and has a 1877 patent date on it.
One of the quarters I found is a 1936 D which is a better year.

Coin Finds
Quarters are 1936,1963
Dimes are 1904,1917,1918,1942,1943,1946,1948,1956,1957,1957,1964
Nickels are Dateless Buffalo, Dateless Buffalo, 1926 Buffalo, 1928 D Buffalo, 4 Jefferson nickels from 1940s-1950s
Indians are 1892,1904
Wheat Pennies are back to 1916

Non Coin Finds
Balfour Sterling FFA Class Ring. Probably 1950s-1960s.
1899 Syracuse Chilled Plow Token
Skeleton Key
Other Assorted Rings
Music Pin
Old Spoon
Suspender Clasp
Part of a brass cover. Has fancy design

How many places did you guys hunt? Can’t get over the variety and quantity of finds. I believe if it were me I’d consider going back for round two! Congratulations on a very successful trip. Thanks for sharing.

What a haul Dave. Nice job on the semi-key 1936-D as well as the ton of silver you found on this trip. That is a superb skeleton key in really great shape. You definitely were zeroing in on those rings this time and that FFA ring is a serious honker. What a great find that is. Hope your hunting season keeps going for you. You must have a pretty killer silver count for this past year. Look forward to seeing what you find next. ATB Greg

Thanks Greg. Not sure how many silver I pulled this year. Will be posting my year end finds in the next few days as we are shut down in our area now with a major blizzard.
p.s. I really liked the old 2 1/2 cent token you pulled recently along with the cool donkey cart pin. I have gotten a few of that token denomination over the years.

Thanks Dave. I love that token. Just wish I could date it accurately. Would love if it was actually Civil War era but probably isn't. That donkey and fruit cart pin was way cool. That video has been doing really well for me since I put it out yesterday. Happy to hear you got to see it. Heading back out to that spot tomorrow morning. Hope we find some goodies to film.
