Some Relic readings
Posted by: Jim upstate NY

Added some relics to my list.. as you can see buttons can read all over, even same types.. probably has to do with condition and make up of button and the soil they were in.. anyway here is the list.. I have lots of different relic stuff, if anyone wants a reading on anything specific, if I have one I will swipe it.. not going to bother doing them on the explorer, as buttons generally ready all over the conductive scale on it as well

I really hate that some of the best coins fall in the low 20s and high 30s... but that's the way it is. I love this detector!

Thanks for the information list. I will be getting the Etrack in about a month, and this will help me a lot. I have been using the Exp. II with great success, and the XS before that. Thanks again, great help. HH...Jesse.

Can you see where a silver half falls such as a franklin half?

This works great for scanning in air, but as we know everthing changes in the ground. i placed two rusty nails about eight inches apart in line with eachother, and adjusted iron mask just to the point where they would null out. then i placed a silver merc in between them. clear, definite silver response audio, but the numbers read 26-32 Fe, 45-46 Co. never once did it register even close to eleven or twelve Fe. How many coins have been passed up because I, we trusted the Fe numbers thinking it was just high conductive iron? then i adjusted iron mask from 33 to 27 and it nocked out the coin altogether. I am rethinking the way i use disc patterns and will be digging a lot more junk. Does the explorers also have this problem or do they actually offer TRUE discrimination? DEAN

My E-Trac will not pick up a Franklin half dollar in coin mode. Any idea why? A dealer told me he thought it was because the Minelab is not made in the US and when it was programed, they didn't have a Franklin half dollar. Any thought woul be helpful!

jameslouis, half and dollars are discriminated out in the coin program. hop into an open quick mask screen and pass one under the coil and you will see they fall at the very upper portion of the fe scale
