VX3 Sensitivity Simplied

Bought the VX3 because the V3i kinda overwhelmed me. I was still having problems figuring out settings especially sensitivity. I called Mary at the Whites factory and was told this. First adjust the Discriminate setting to around 75 to 80 to the amount of false signals you can tolerate, then adjust from here on using the RX setting. I turned it all the way to 14 and used it a little to listen to the Falsing. Then I backed off to factory setting of 5 and listened. I then increased a point at a time until I hit the best spot which was around 8. I found about 50 coins at an old house yesterday afternoon. 8 were Wheats and one was a Rosie. I really did not like the Concentric and hunted with the 6X10. Not sure I am getting the depth I want. One of the Deepest signals was the Rosie that according to the depth meter was 7 inches. Not sure the depth meter is correct because there is no Coil setting on the VX3 like the V3i. Amazing how little junk I dug.

Still wondering about that depth?

I am new to the VX3 , but I have read and was told that the 13" ultimate is a deeper coil........how true, still got to find out. I got the 13" , 4x6 , 6x10 , D2 and 950........so when I can get out I will give these a try.

I will have to try that the next time I go out. Right now the ground if frozen so probably won't get out till next year.
Yea, the problem with some people is they think if Whites allows one to drive up the sensitivity all the way that that's what one should do. Not a good idea.

Do you also hunt with boost on?

I have a VX3 which does not have the boost feature.

I don't think the boost does much in higher mineralized areas
