Currently, it's -29C/-20F with the temperature dropping to -41C/-41.8F facturing the wind tonite. Now my detectors might work under these conditions, but I sure won't. :stretcher:

Nice pile of balls! I thought the Brass Monkey was only aboard ships.
Must be Money number 3...
You sure do thing differently way up north. My suggestion is to stay warm inside, jerky and beer at hand, in front of the fireplace.
Happy New Year...

PS save yourself for the wonderful summer coming your way...

Got me looking and surprised to see:

The Truth (as copied from TruthOrFiction.com) :

According to the United States Navy Historical Center, this is a legend of the sea without historical justification. The center has researched this because of the questions it gets and says the term “brass monkey” and a vulgar reference to the effect of cold on the monkey’s extremities, appears to have originated in the book “Before the Mast” by C.A. Abbey. It was said that it was so cold that it would “freeze the tail off a brass monkey.” The Navy says there is no evidence that the phrase had anything to do with ships or ships with cannon balls.

Well......like they say "the true is out there" and it's freaking freezing in my neck of the woods. Thank God for some of the pleasures of life beer, jerky just to name a few.
