1925 Buffalo
Posted by: Tony N (Michigan)

Last night on the farm I live on I was detecting this part of the yard I've been over with many different detectors.
I took out my Deus with the 11" LF coil and was gridding and getting lots of iron grunts. I was using CT_Todds excellent program (5 tones).
But still nothing. So I switched over to the XY screen. Then I got an iffy signal that was mid tone and the XY was just on the edge of saying "Dig Me!"

I know it's not much, a 1925 Buffalo. But the important thing here is: I had fun, didn't get into any trouble, got some nice sunshine and fresh air and
dug a coin that was missed by many different detectors for the last 20 years or so. The crap near the nickel was pulling the numbers down but the XY screen and SOUND is what helped.
I'm still learning the machine but slowly getting better at determining iron falsing. BUT . . . I have yet to determine iron falsing from a coin near iron! So I still
dig the iffy targets just in case.

How do they look when you dig them?

Up here they look pretty dark.

This is a 1925 I dug.
I think it is the best condition one I've dug.

Tony, I have been finding the x/y screen and the hot program has really increased my finds using 4.1. Congratulations on that buffalo!

congrats!

Thanks buddy. I've been watching your YouTube vids. Have you ever tried making a video without using hand expressions? LOL.

Your vids are really good and what's nice about them is you show a lot of excitement and authority in what you are trying to express.

They aren't like the lame videos where the person talks in a monotone voice and digs nothing but crap with their detector.
keep up the good work, bro.
For those of you who don't know, calabash digger has really great videos on YouTube.

I do like the XY screen as it seems to me to give much more information than the horseshoe. It's not perfect.
I have not updated to the 4.1 yet. I do have 4.0. I don't have the Deus PinPointer so don't know why I should go to 4.1. I might wait for the 5.0
that will detect a coin at 15 or so inches.

I'd like to see a pic of it if you have one. Many of the buffalo's I dig around here are pretty worn. People kept change in circulation a lot longer
back in those days.

Thanks, Elton. Usually the buffs I dig the dates are all worn off.
