The equinox and 3030 real close on the same depth. I can’t tell much difference. You have to set equinox speed to number one. And set the sensitivity as high as it will go. And it does about the same on a 10 inch dime that I have in my test garden . The CTX in my ground runs about 27 on the sensitivity in auto +3. I can pick up the dime inch 2 inches off the top of the ground with both detectors. If I run the CTX on manual sensitivity I can get the same results with the sensitivity of 24 .If I go to sensitivity of 30 on the CTX really don’t seem to get any better because the sound becomes distorted . The big thing of the CTX is that it will ID it every time.IAnd the equinox will jump around.

With the CTX 3030 if you drop your fe
line down to 31.You can get almost the same results. The equinox has a little bit faster response. And may do a little bit better. Only have the 600 equinox. I believe if a metal detector company would make a Detector that past the nail board test and not be worth Dam at anything else it would sale.Just because it could pass this stupid test. The equinox 600 has not found any coins that I’ve missed with the 3030 yet .

Huh? Wonder why one is $900.00 and the other is $2000.00 plus ? :)
Did we really think that Minelab would make a $900.00 detector that would out perform their "King" CTX? They made this to take a huge portion of the other brands sales with light weight, multi Freq, water proof, etc, Like the old saying "You get what you pay for?

You’re getting your best value of the dollar from Nox.The CTX you getting a lot more features. What I’m saying just detecting the nox and the CTX 3030 are about equalI don’t think one can be dead.or in certain situations maybe I can I be a little bit deeper maybe I can get a coin little closer but that’s it . What I really love about that nox is I can hunt all day without my arm falling off.

thanks for the info. It would be nice to see come depth test comparisons CTX VS Equinox, on low conductors. I have seen a few reports saying the Equinox is really good on low conductors
