Coil Bolt and Washers

I was changing coils on my CTX, which I haven't done in quite awhile, and was having a hard time getting the bolt and nut off. Was wondering if anybody uses anything on the threads to insure easy removal? Some sort of lubricant? Or, do you just loosen the bolt and nut every once in a while?

Exactly, just loosen them up and take them off to clean out the grit every so often. They can really get bound up!

any lubricant will act like a glue for dirt, sand and debris ultimately making much much harder to remove.

I've had similar issues with Explorer, Etrac and also with CTX303 with that bolt. Have to say that will be also using it on the Equinox.

I used compressed air form a nozzle to clean out the thread of the nut first.

Have used a very small amount of graphite powder/lube on thread of the bolt only. Keep it off the washers and the binding face of the nut and bolt part as well.

The graphite powder/lube does not "goop" and collect dirt.

For me it's been the best solution.

Hope it helps.
