[/img] Went to a old church that had a ball field and old picnic grove I had hunted this before but not the ball field .

I hunted the old picnic area first it had one spot 20x20 that was loaded with caps and nails I have found 5 Indians here before and some barber dimes . Out of the 4 Indians the ctx called 2 and 2 of them it called iron but trace seen them all just like last time . I could not pinpoint one lots of crap in the hole I had dug two holes one on each side of the coin the dam coin was between them I had a 19 on both sides thinking I had 2 separate coins . As i was checking the holes before moving on I get a perfect 19 8 inches away dug out another indian at 6 inches down .

Found some more early wheat's even got a 1909 no vdb or s go figure , then I hit the ball field it was newer from the 40s I would say found 1 silver dime some wheat's and a few nickels couple tokens but don't remember where I put them .

Anyway that indian on edge had me digging for 5 minutes rookie mistake I guess but with all that crap that was there it was the last thing I was thinking about . Tip if you get a good ID in a pile of trash keep looking for it and remember this .sube

Holy CATS man! I am learning to effectively use target trace finally, and OMG Sube,I’m in a whole new realm. To look at it and say yay or nay,and to look at it and watch what’s going on along with what numbers are popping up and how often...different thing, and straight up unbelievable.
Fantastic hunting as always!

sube -- OUTSTANDING! GREAT hunting!

When you say the CTX called two of the Indians "iron," can you give more details? Numbers? Target trace appearance?

Sube,

I love the little subtle nuisances that you get with the 3030 that take patience to decipher but is well worth it in the end. Nice digs my friend. You keep us all inspired.

Well Steve I never dig 19s unless I am at a old place and it's over 5 inches deep .
So I get a iron tone audio bottom right has a curser and the 12 line has one building at 12.19 sweep the other way and just get iron curser and tone good example of coin on edge double one way single or none the other .
What I like to do when I have more than 2 or 3 targets is to go to pinpoint sizing with trace .
I have my user button set for high trash so I have to hold the pinpoint button in as I sweep around the target watching the screen as I circle the target keeping a eye on where the iron sound or grunts are coming from , since you only can build iron on iron in the bottom right corner you have to remember where they are on the ground .
Now if a pull-tab or foil show up it will place it on the 12 line with the other conductive hits .

Now after seeing where everything is laying and what's there I will resweep the target and hone in on the best high tone . If the # was 19 as in my dig which had iron right with it all I got was one grunt but where that grunt was coming from I was getting trace at 12.19 . So I know the 12.19 is with iron I can assume that the #s well be altered . If the target had a pull-tab with it I would have got audio and the #s would read tab plus Indian would be 12.30 instead of 12.35 .

When I sweep the other 12.19 8 inches away I get one iron grunt both ways with trace building at 12.19 both ways my conclusion was that there was not a nail with either target since I only got a grunt both ways and no double grunts I would have to say that there was a cap with both these targets and when I dug they disintegrated
leaving nothing for the pinpointer to find .

I thinking that there are 2 trace channels and 1 audio channel Trace 1 for conductive Trace 2 for ferrous and of course 1 for audio maybe that's why it's better to go slow with all that stuff going on so get a good picture of what's going on in the ground before making a guess use that pinpoint sizing . sube

Sube -- fascinating. You are practicing some "dark arts" there. I'd need to hunt with you, to see what/how you are doing things. It's hard for me to picture. But, obviously, it's working for you!

Really good job at figuring out what's under your coil!

Dark arts naw just using what the ctx has to offer in a bad situation . sube

I did notice I made a error in my post (Now after seeing where everything is laying and what's there I will resweep the target and hone in on the best high tone ) it was suppose to say target trace does not get fooled like audio, on a false it will build but if you check around the target you will get another trace which sometimes is silent in audio but not target trace . sube

Nice work sube, The TT is the 3rd eye that never blinks. lol The TT gives a 3 dimensional understanding where the tones and ID only give a 2 dimensional understanding. If what I hear and see on the ID doesn't jive with the TT, I know my understanding needs correction.
