Decided to swap coils and when I went to connect the small coil I can't get it to plug in. I've done this numerous times with never a problem. The pins all look straight to me (even with my glasses on) . Any suggestions ? Thanks

Yes, I'm well aware how it should line up. Done it numerous times, and no, neither coil will hook up. The pins all look very straight, but I can see where if a single pin is off just a hair it won't plug in. And there's not a lot of room to work if you have big hand and fingers. Love the Minelab electronics but stuff like this drives me crazy. Would love to see the CTX packaged like the Equinox. Thanks for your input

Disconnect the other cable and remove the housing completely. Just depress the release tab again when it locks in the rear position (where you'd normally access the coil connector) and it slides right off. It'll be a lot easier to figure it out when you can see what's going on.

Check the coil plug pins to see if there is any sand blocking them. They are female and a thin pin should go in each freely. You dont want to spread the contacts apart though - just to check each one.

Use a jeweler's loop to get a good look at both connections. Not really any room for error so if a foreign object is in there or a pin is bent in the slightest, it wont go together.

Thanks for the input guys. You're right Jason, very little room for error.
