CTX Battery Charging

Alright, what's the right way to charge the CTX battery? Last time I charged mine it was at probably 25% or so. I charged it overnight, along with the WM10, and in just a couple of hours the WM10 was charged. The next morning, the lights on the charger indicated that the CTX battery was still charging (not fully charged).

I have read that they don't have a "memory", and that some people recommend putting them on the charger after every single hung, but I've also read recently that letting them discharge completely to the point of the detector turning off and then fully charging will "reset" the battery.

Any thoughts? Anybody know what Minelab recommends?

You should be able to charge it at any point in its capacity. Use it for 10 minutes.. charge it. Use it for two hours.. charge it.
Mine would usually charge in minutes for usage beforehand being say 4 hours. I was out for 6 hours Sunday and it has been charging for two days still - I think after over 4 years I finally may need a new battery.

Yeah mine's about 4 years old too. Might be that time... although I did have somebody tell me if you leave it on there for too long it'll go back to flashing green. I'm pretty drained right now so I'm going to charge it this afternoon while I can keep an eye on it to see if it goes solid green.

I bought some cells from a vape shop and rebuilt my battery and tried powering on the detector......nothing. Took it apart to verify things.... good. Tried the alkaline battery... worked.... but then got "USB connected" messages randomly during use. Oh crap. Took the control pod apart and sure enough the coin cell CR1220 is dead. Guess I'll be using the Equinox tomorrow. The CR1220 is a backup battery for the custom settings. Before this the detector had been defaulting to volume instead of the intended Sensitivity, but I had the best hunt with it ever last Sunday. I'm wondering if I should put in a bigger coincell...

I went to a vape shop and bought 4 - Samsung 3A cells and rebuilt my pack. My old cells were 3.94V - each one. The new ones charged to 4.15V.
I’d like a backup pack too so you first then me :-)
The second one I’d use cells from a pc battery I have.
