50 tones conductive

I have used the CTX 3030 for 14 months. I use mainly programs with combined tons and open screen . Tried the 50 conductive tones, but on that setting the iron sounds with a high tone - the same as silver and copper. Is there any reason or advantage of using the 50 conductive instead of combined tones and in what situations?

Vlad....50 tones must be used with some discrimination in ANY place other than a wide open field where you’re digging EVERYTHING. The tonal differences are there between a nail and a coin, but they can be VERY slight and time consuming to sort out by ear. Others may argue, but that’s the way it is for 99.9% of hunters who hunt inland parks and schools here in the USA.

Thanks IDXMonster! That makes sense. I was afraid I may be missing something. Here in the UK the parks are off limits. I'll stick with the combined tones.
