Four Days, Four Parks

Taking advantage of the cool mornings and fresh air, in some small parks.

Strategy for Florida in July (no kidding): ... start out early and find the shady places, because in the afternoon it's going up to 102 degrees.

Come to think of it ... if the shady places are good today for swinging a coil, they were just as OK many years ago for folks to get together, stay cool, and drop some coins.

The coins are all modern stuff, but they cover a new battery for the Omega or the Garrett pinpointer. No sweat.

That's a large buckle. I wonder how it was used.

Somebody lost a set of bluetooth earphones.

The ring is a small kid's ring, no markings inside.

The cigar was an eyeball find ... I was digging a plug and pulling up a nickel, and the stogie was right there on the ground a couple of feet away.

The shotgun shell was four inches down. It's a very small park, only about a tenth of an acre in size. There are houses all around it, dating back to the 1910s and 1920s. Somebody fired a shotgun there, years ago? With houses all around? I'd sure like to know the history about that.

The buckle looks like an old one. Never know how many times things like that could have been passed down to other family members.
