Bucket lister with the Nox

Couldn't find one of these dimes to save my life, don't know why, I should have but never did.
Till today.
Second hunt with the Nox...I discovered 50 tones, loved them, and then I discovered this.

Happy, happy, happy!

Thanks all!

This was at a very old park where some buddies and I have found several old coins.
I know some Barbers have been found at other places around the park, I found 3 V nickels in two different spots, some Indians have popped up and even a civil war relic or two.
Most areas have been searched to death but we still find some goodies from time to time.
This area was unique in that a nice size space had become overgrown over the years with weeds and plants that took over and grew to over 6' tall so we really couldn't get in there and hunt with any success even with sniper coils, such a frustrating hassle.
Especially frustrating because in a more open very small space we could hunt at one end of this area a friend found a few Indians and a shield nickel...we didn't even think that shield was possible to find around here but that just goes to show you why you just can't assume.
The other day I get a call from my buddy who tells me the city got in there with big machines and leveled the whole space, they cut all the fauna down to ground level so now we had an area to hunt that had probably had not seen a coil in a very long time.
He went in there with his Nox that was also new to him and managed to find a couple of Indians and he planned on going back with one of his AT Pros which he knows way better at this point.
He had plans and couldn't meet me but I went there yesterday with my Nox with a goal to find just one silver coin if I could.
I hit that goal in a surprising way for sure.

It was shallow, only 2-3" deep, this was the second decent high tone I got while I was there and I swear it sounded unusually good...I think I heard that flutey, silver tone the Minelab guys always talk about but I am not really sure because I never swung a Minelab or experienced that before in my life.
A pretty darn solid 24-25 if I remember correctly.

I was cherry picking at that point, 50 tones, tone break at 18 and everything below that was set to low tone at 1 and the volume on that lower section was lowered too.
This thing stood out like a lighthouse on a dark night with these settings.

Turns out I found another piece of silver too, thought it was a button with at best a silver wash but I just cleaned and tested it.
It is not a button but a cap off of...something, or maybe it is just the silver part of a two piece button and acid testing says this thing is for sure silver...and not just washed or plated.
No flutey tone, I was in 5 tones and if you can get that sound in that mode I missed it but it was pretty solid in the low 20's.
That makes two hunts, three silvers and I don't really know what I am doing with this thing...yet.

Thanks, great write-up. I've had my 600 for a week, but no silver yet. I'm still working out the kinks and figuring out the modes, tones and such. I've been hunting a 130 year old park with a ton of trash so I'm struggling with separation at this point and identifying good signals. I found two wheaties the other day, so I know there still potential there.

So are you in Park 2 with 50 tones or did you adjust Park 1 for 50 tones? I know the 600 dosen't have all the tone breaks and volume levels the 800 does but I'll adapt.

Thanks,
Dan

So if you haven't tried it yet, you should try hunting in all metal with the Nox. Doing this has revealed some good targets for me in some places I thought were hunted clean by the Nox's discriminating modes. The Nox will still give a vdi and a tone in all metal.

I have tried all metal.
Thought I had set it wrong because I was still getting tones which is kinds neat.
I like it, I will explore that setting in the future.
