A visitor from Spain...

Often, my coins are so dirty that I can’t identify what they are, but just store them in a jar until it’s time to run a batch through the tumble to clean them. Thus was the case with finding this 1963 19xx UNA PESETA in the batch I cleaned last night. A Spanish coin is not something one would expect to find in NE Ohio, but neither was the 25 CENTAVO coin from Guatemala that I found a few weeks ago. I guess that’s the allure of this hobby...never really knowing what will come out of the ground next!

Neat--the art work on foreign coins make them interesting.

I spent quite a bit of time in Rota Spain when I was riding a couple of Uncle Sams Fleet Ballistic Submarines. I am sure that there are some Spanish coins in my house some where. Folks in the Military always have a few coins from places that they have visited. We lose them just like everyone else. Might explain how those coins arrived in Ohio.
