Hey all, I have this quartz (At least I think it's quartz tell me if I'm wrong) I found it in a geode. But it is covered with lava rock, and I am wondering how to remove it with minimal damage to the quartz inside.

Any help will be appreciated thanks.

I would tumble it for awhile. Since quartz is so hard it should remain intact if you don't tumble it too long. I use a sonic tumbler that is gentler on the rocks physically but faster in the process.
