Around 50 years ago as a kid my dad put his boat to shore for a break from fishing. While climbing the rocks I came upon large slabs of rock that looked like meat. Since then I figured they were fossil trees limbs. I don't expect to ever get back there but if anyone else chooses to look....

Upriver from "Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin there is a railroad bridge, on the western side is where we took our break.
