Manticore owners: Do i need 1?

I dig way less trash with the Manticore. Also the separation is awesome. The 2D screen is a timesaver and a game changer. It is the best machine I have ever used, since I started detecting in 1972

Xterra Elite compared to Equinox 900

Just bought the Elite to replace my 600 as my back up. Will let you know how it does. I bought it because it has a lot of the same VDI, tones and functions as my Manticore, so when I use it as a back up or loaner I'll be familiar with it.

Manticore owners: Do i need 1?

Had the Manticore since Dec 2023, use it all the time. Awesome detector. I highly recommend the update. It really stablelises the detector. And the numbers turn red when you turn on all iron. This is very helpful when water hunting and it's submerged. If your serious about detecting and...

    Manticore custom coins program.

In my opinion almost all of my gold signals would have been missed. Why would you severely try to limit a machine that is designed to tell you so much information. I use my ears first then the horseshoe and 2d graph. I dig way less trash and have had my best gold and jewelry year ever

slight issue with coil on manticore

Yes I run general, 2 tone, simple, speed 4 these are my normal settings f0r every thing all our beaches are freshwater. Here’s some tips if the 2D shows the dot floating or below the center line it’s usually junk Detect by tone primarily if it sounds scratchy turn on the horse shoe. Try to...

slight issue with coil on manticore

MY problem with the Manticore is it’s so damn good, it doesn’t give iffly signals. If it doesn’t lock on to a signal or the 2D shows a plotting or a sinking dot it’s junk.

    minelabs bad decision on coils

I feel the Manticore seperates so well the 11" coil can be used in place of the 9" with the same results

    Manticore update available

The update really quieted the core down. It separate's better. I use the red numbers easier to see when submerged, also when you have bad targets next to good ones you can see where they are different targets.

    Equinox 600

I think you would be better off just keeping the 600 than going to a legend.

    Equinox 900 struggles...

Sometimes people get a newer detector for depth and expect to find a lot of deeper coins. I did this myself with the Manticore, I go to parks we've hammered with the Nox's, we did not miss much. Sometimes there isn't any deep deep targets. However the 900 and Manticore have been pulling...

Couple of questions for you Nox users

Here's a good re43commendation, look for a good used Nox 600, it's all you'll need unless you plan on small nugget hunting. You don't have to turn the cell phone off or worry about other detectors. When you get interference just noise cancel and it should pick a clear frequency for you to...
