Epoxy recommendation for coil ear fix

Gigmaster posted a great video on fixing the coil ears on a Nox. I did this repair over a year ago and it's still holding up 100%. Be sure to use the ABS plastic and the Gorilla 2 tube epoxy shown in the video. Use sandpaper to rough up all mating surfaces before gluing & clamping. Use needle...

    nox 800 leaks

My 800 will be 5 years old next month. I've used it submerged in the Gulf of Mexico and in fresh water lakes here in New England and it hasn't leaked - yet. Mark kus's comment above is on the money. Gigmaster did a rest and his leaked at the charge port where there were small fracture cracks.

    Dear Minelab

Minelab has made several firmware revisions since the 600/800 were introduced. Those firmware revisions also required revisions of the manual to keep owners up to date with the detector's capabilities. The most timely and expeditious way to do that is to provide updated manuals via the web site...

Who is going to buy an Equinox anymore

You're correct FWC. The 6-incher is a nice inclusion, but they did drop the WM08 wireless module. Probably because none of the 600/800 Bluetooth accessories are compatible with the 700/900 machines version of Bluetooth.

Who is going to buy an Equinox anymore

15% off $1099 is $165 in round numbers, not $200 - $300. Who do you ask? “Call any large dealer”. This is common sense. Of course no dealer is going to give big discounts when folks are lining up with cash to buy the newest dream machine. More common sense. Give it 6 months or so and give it a...

Who is going to buy an Equinox anymore

I've watched 2 “live“ streams in the last couple of days where the panel participants discuss the features and testing of the new Manticore and the 700/900 machines. Good stuff. The “live” streams are still up on YT. You know where to look. During both live streams the panel participants...

    NEW EQ 700 & 900 Just Announced 99 TID

My 800 is here to stay with my ATPro for backup. The 800 is almost 2 years out of warranty ( 2/2018 ) and if the control pod goes south it's $425 for a replacement pod that may very well be a leaker. That $425 is going toward a 900.

    NEW EQ 700 & 900 Just Announced 99 TID

The manual and specs are on the Minelab web site. Now we just need the numbers following the $ sign filled in.

    Minelab Manticore

Smart marketing. Nobody is buying a MF detector in this class while Minelab has everyone holding their breath in anticipation.

    Ground balance

Really depends where you're detecting. I was out on an old rugby pitch 2 days ago and could tell by the chattery signals that the ground had more mineralization than most places I go. Did a ground grab and came up as 22 repeatable +/- a digit or so. I could tell that the soil was fill an inch...

So I'm wondering, I'm still getting a grip on this nox 600 detector... Is there a benefit using

Park 1 Multi is my go to mode for most of my detecting. Great for coins and rings. While trying to find a missing gold earring & using the remaining earring to see which mode worked best on the ground (not air test), I found Park 2 to be the best out of all the detector modes for small gold...

Test comparatif Minelab Manticore vs XP Deus 2

Such a disappointment they didn't put an Equinox into the mix for the test. Still, I feel badly for the new D2 owners. The MTC does look like a beast.

I'm not loving the grip on the Equinox

Try a slice of swimming pool noodle.

    Minelab Manticore

    Correct that. $1360.

    Minelab Manticore

Yep, typo, should have been $1360 round numbers
