    Depth on a Detect 4” x 18” coils

Sounds like the coil was either not compatible or faulty. Detech is usually a very good company so I would suspect there was something wrong with the coil. Maybe the shippers used it as a weapon at some point before you received it... Arrow would be nice for ground coverage but don't think it...

Some finds in order of monetary value..

Rich farmland will roast coppers. I have found coppers are generally in better condition on top of hills and slopes where the soil is usually dryer and less mineralized. Targets also tend to run shallower in poorer soil because of less earthworm activity.

What is the absolute best metal detector for metal detecting in freshwater? (lakes, creeks, and rivers)

People forget Tesoro had similar issues with some machines running hotter than others... I believe a lot of that is due to the variations in the components. Resistors, caps etc have a tolerance of +-15% on average and that can make and IB machine run out of spec.

What is the absolute best metal detector for metal detecting in freshwater? (lakes, creeks, and rivers)

The D2 is definitely hyped up by noobtubers. I was hesitant in buying one because of all the happy horse Sh** that was slung around. Much of my water hunting was done with the Seahunter and AT pro. AT Pro was getting pretty worn out and after 3 services on it I retired it and the Seahunter was...

What is the absolute best metal detector for metal detecting in freshwater? (lakes, creeks, and rivers)

I have done well with the D2, AT Pro, Multi Kruzer and Seahunter MK2 for water hunting. Out of them all the D2 is a solid machine in the VLF class. I I really liked the AT Pro but the D2 tracking and once set up is actually a click on and go machine. Stick with the 9" coil, it has plenty of...

What is the absolute best metal detector for metal detecting in freshwater? (lakes, creeks, and rivers)

I enjoy the D2 for water hunting, does well. MF machines in general can false with iron rich grounds and if that is the case in your area you can always toss it into single frequency mode. Stock 9" coils swings easy in the water. Bonephones do the job but not too crazy about them. If your not...

Recommendation sent to Xp - Deus 2 4.1- Increase font size lowest bin of tones screen

XP takes requests? That must be a feature of itself!!!! Hardly use the screen here mostly hunt by audio. XY screen is good because it solved the problem of the clock losing time....

Garrett Goldmaster 24K as a coin / jewelry / relic machine

I prefer lower frequencies for coin and jewelry hunting over higher freq prospecting machines. I have used a makro gold racer 56khz and found it hits small gold jewelry too hard making jewlery hard to pick out from can slaw. 15-20khz seems better for jewelry hunting for me. thin silvers hit...

    Ground balance numbers:

In most salt water conditions gb should be close to 0. This is typical with all detectors that have manual ground balancing. Use all metal mode you can hear if it starts to false on the end of your swing so if it does drop it down till it runs smooth.

Some finds in order of monetary value..

If we go back a couple hundred years I think we could read the date and it would look way better.... Coppers here get roasted in our soil.

Some finds in order of monetary value..

Got out for a short bit and hit one the old fields nearby before the grass gets too tall. Not a lot of trash there so it is pretty much a dig all area with the exception of old iron. Classy vintage pull ring, bail weight that is probably 1800's and early 1800's half penny based off the size and...

    Bullet ID help...also

We have a lot of those around here. I believe they are from the mid/late 1800's. Probably from hunters. I'm sure you will find early shotty shells in the same area as well.

    Great Day in the Sun

Crystal maybe from the 60's-70's? I think stones like that as pendants were popular then, found a moonstone one time with similar cut. Nice run!

    Fiberglass Fly Rods

Fly fishing is pretty easy. Biggest mistake people make is they have a weak back cast and tend to try to compensate with a strong forward cast. Tenkara fishing is a good way to start as there is minimal false casting and line is usually the length of the rod or a third longer. Tenkara rod with...

    Fiberglass Fly Rods

Company called Moonlit puts out new fiberglass rods. Good company and does the manufacturing for Dragontail Tenkara which is a USA based company that is also excellent. personally I like the split cane rods, been designing and building them since 89. Split cane have nice dampening so the line...
