How I got my E-trac screen to be better seen

I just now tested this: I went to Preferences on the far upper right and then to Contrast. On "Contrast" I lowered the numbers from 30 down to around 15 and the screen is much easier to see in the sun. When my Contrast is all the way up to 30 it is very difficult to see anything properly on the...

    CL and bP in T2+?

My T2 manual (it doesn't say T2+) says the detector has CL and bP. In the manual it says: bP: Boost This selection is an enhanced sensitivity version of the 2+ # OF TONES selection. It is particularly useful when searching for deep targets in a non-trashy area, or on a site where vegetation...

Anyone know what happened to Paul, A.K.A. Old California

I've been trying to message Paul but his inbox is overfilled. He might go by Paul (CA) too? He has helped me quite a lot detecting over the years and wanted to get in touch with him. He posted as Old California.

Headphones not pairing with new HF 9.5 coil

I updated the detector to v.7.2 the other day. Today I received a new 9.5 HF coil. If I put sound ON on the detector I hear the coil. I take sound off on the detector and cannot hear the coil in the headphones. Do I need to go back to v.4.0? I put in the new coil serial #'s into the detector...

Iron in the Hole and a nickel

Detected the old farm driveway after work with the 9" LF coil. The '42' nickel is nothing special. What is special is the nails in the same hole as the nickel and being able to pick it out of the nails. I've been over this driveway with many different detectors over the years.

    13" x 11" x35 coil question

Usually, in descriptions for the x35 13" x 11" coil, it says this coil is for large coins or caches i.e. "such as large masses and large Silver coins." Has anyone found deep (10" deep) silver dimes or indian head pennies with this coil? In their description for this coil and the 11" and 9"...

TX Power on latest update question on XP

I thought I read somewhere that with the latest update, that in a frequency of 4 you could up the TX Power to 3. However, when I run the Frequency down to 4 it takes out the "EXPERT" thingy so I can't adjust the TX Power. I'm only using the small round coil and large round coil. I'm not using...

I just updated the Deux :smoke:

I'm usually hesitant to update what is already a great program (4.0) but finally did it this morning. Went smoothly. Not sure why the coils have to be on charge while updating them unless some do not have enough power in their battery in the coil to begin with? I also installed Gary's Ultimate...

Michigan Thumb, Lapeer to Flint area partner?

My old detecting friend died last year. I haven't been out much since. Looking for someone or someones (plural :-)) to detect with. It's just not fun detecting by myself. I live south of Imlay city but am willing to drive to meet up with you. I have quite a few detectors if you don't have one...

Anyone not updating from 4.1 to 5.2?

I haven't made up my mind if it is really worth the upgrade. I don't use the wireless pinpointer nor the hi frequency coils. What do you think? Should I update?

White's V3i depth in relation to MX Sport?

I have a V3i and have heard from some that the MX Sport is just as deep as the V3i. Does anyone know if this is true? Also, does anyone have any comparisons when detecting in high trash if one is better than the other? I realize the V3i is highly programmable and that a person can actually...

*-*-*-Bestest, Deepest Settings for T2 Plus???-*-*-*

Hi folks, I have a T2+ on the way and need to know what your best settings are for deepest coin hits. I've heard searching in all metal is great. Your thoughts on that? Some hunt 2,3,4 Tone and some swear Tone does not make a difference on depth. I realize everyone has different soil types...
