    CZ6a Lemons?

I have 2 CZ6a's , both bought used. They don't go as deep as what I read on the metal detecting forums (12" in air, 10" in ground on a dime). In air, both detect a dime at 9". But in the ground, both detect it only to 6"I Sent one to Nasa Tom for re=calibration. Came back, still only goes 9"...

    CZ 6a re-calibrate

As I posted previously, my CZ can only go 8-9" in air test on a dime. After seeing posts by many that their CZ goes to 10" "in the ground"; I sent it off to Nasa Tom for a recalibrate and tuneup. Just got it back, and was quite disappointed; no improvement , still 8 1/2" on air test, 6" in...

    CZ6a tuneup

Anyone knows where I can have my CZ6a tuned up /recalibrated? Seems to have lost some depth and ID. Eg, buried a dime at 7". It can see it , but ID as iron; proper ID is only at 5" Ken

how does the Vanquish do on Bottlecaps?

I'm deciding whether to buy a Vanquish. The only info missing is how the machine sounds and ID on bottlecaps? Is it a solid ID and tone, or a mix of iron and good tone / jumpy ID? Will one be fooled big time ? On the equinox, it says to switch between multi-freq, and single freq to identify...

    Depth for CZ6a

I have 2 CZ6a. Air tested a penny, both at 9". But in the ground, both got only 6" . Max sensitivity, 0 discrimination, ground balanced. Non-mineralized soil/sod. Is this normal? I've read they should go down 9-11" in the ground?? Thanks Ken

    CZ5 In-ground depth test

Has anyone actually done an in-ground depth test versus the air test? I;ve done some air tests in the past with great results, eg., a silver dime tested 9.5", and a Canadian fishscale (1/2 dime) 8" (13mm diameter) I was totally surprised today when I decided to see what the fishscale can...

    CZ5/6A electronic schematic diagram

Does anyone have a schematic diagram? The headphone jack on the CZ6a sends out too much volume. Even with the volume control dialled to minimum, all headphones connected to it is too loud, hurts the ears! There must be an internal control that cuts back on the volume. Ken

    u2robert

Robert, you PM 'd me re CZ5. I sent you PM, but it says your PM box is "full" and cannot receive my message! In any case, The CZ5 depth was about 9" on a dime, air test. Ken

    CZ5, CZ6a Question

two questions actually: I have 2x CZ5 and 1xCZ6a; when I put it in "salt" mode, and go to a saltwater beach, it's automatically ground balanced. No amount of fiddling with the ground balance control would change anything, is this normal or is there something wrong with the three machines? Now...

    CZ5 and CZ20

Is the CZ20 a waterproofed version of the CZ5? I think I read somewhere that they have the same circuitry; the CZ20 being a CZ5 in the salt mode and waterproofed and no meter. Ken

    CZ5 in saltwater

Here's what I found with the CZ5 in salt mode in saltwater. It works great when coil is immersed in 2-3 ft of saltwater; also works well in wet sand. However, in very shallow salt water (like 4-5 inches ), it falses a lot; as well as in crashing shallow surf it falses a lot....it's unuseable...

Another Question on the Eurotek Pro 11" DD coil

Probably a silly question: but I don't know what VCO audio is? I have a 3 tone machine, low for iron, hi tone for silver, copper....and a mid-tone for all others (pulltabs, gold, bottle caps...) The Euro tek has 3 tones; Low, VCO, and High I know what Low and High means, but not VCO? I'm...

    Eurotek Pro Questions

Some questions: In "discriminate" mode, does it have modulated audio? meaning the deeper the target, the fainter the audio. If the audio is modulated, is it also modulated for volume 11 to 20? What is the target separation with the 11"" DD coil.....for example , a dime and a bottle cap (or...

    CZ 10.5" coil

Has anyone used a 10.5" coil on their CZ. How is the depth compared to the standard 8" coil? Deciding whether it's worthwhile to add a 10.5" coil . Thanks Ken

CZ5 depth for a clad dime?

Can someone with a cz5 do a simple air test on how deep it can detect a clad dime? both for normal and salt mode. thanks Ken

    CZ5 problem

The coil cable that connects to the control box is faulty. Seems there's a breakage somewhere near the connector that plugs into the control box. I opened up the plug, and all the wires are soldered solidly, so me thinks there's a broken wire in the cable. I'm pretty certain of that because I...

    Fisher 1280

I'm getting a Detector Pirate Pro. I understand it's the same platform as the 1280. Have anyone used the 1280 in shallow saltwater hunting ? How did the 1280 perform? Thanks Ken
