    I guess my detector loves nickels

    Went out to an old fair ground today and found 3 V Nickels 1902, 03, 08 and a no date Buffalo. I have been finding old nickels at pounded out sites, no silver. I'm guessing they notched them out and took all the silver. I hunt with no notching or discrimination.

    Went out to a school house site in stark county from 1850 to 1890, currently a corn field. Spent six hours and only to find this 1868 shield nickel, in my last 5 minutes hunting. First one ever dug. I was digging a lot of beer tabs and almost walked on , glad I didn't.
